Water names for a girl

I am so feeling this is a girl. So, I need names for a girl that represent water. Let me explain.

My parents tried to have a "water" theme for me and my sister. Her name is Brooke (my dad messed up the birth certificate check, it was supposed to be Brook). Me, I am named after my mother and the name is a water valley in Tunisia. It is extremely different. Here is the name: http://www.traveljournals.net/explor...sedjenane.html

My last name is Chinese (DH is half Chinese, but knows NO chinese except to order in the restaurant). DH spent most of his childhood in Hawai'i and now that I have been there, I would like a Hawaiian name as well but I am not finding nice Hawaiian names that mean "water" or "ocean", etc.

I want to honor my sister if this is a girl. However, both she and I agree that her name and my last name just do not go together. So, we are trying to find a water themed name.

I liked something like Leilani Ocean. I told DH and I got the "no way in hell" look Which of course, I can still work on him! But, I am back in the research phase of finding a nice water themed name so that I can figure out a Hawaiian name to go with it.

Help!

What about a less known water location??

Other names I found:
Rio, Brooke, Amaya, Kendra, Tallulah

That's pretty awesome too...

How about Kai... its a hawaiian girl name, meaning Sea... and while I could see you not wanting it as a first name, it works well as a middle name and especially so with another hawaiian first name.

I think Leilani Kai sounds beautiful, but I'm not sure how it will sound with Aiden. How about Brooklyn Kai Chineselastname? Are you going for a full-on elemental theme? LOL You'll have to have an air and earth, too!

Oooohhhh! Thanks! I am not sure why I did not find that page That is awesome.

So, I find it extremely interesting that my mom has decided to call my baby Talulah (she gives every baby her own nickname - it is funny). Apparently that is after a southern woman who was, my mom put it, a "handful". And that is a water name. Hum..... I wish it was a Cherokee name because we are part Cherokee, but an Indian name with a Hawaiian name might be pretty cool

Ok, feeling like I actually have choices again!

I am not going to try and match the kids names. I thought about it, but I decided to not limit myself

My sister (Brooke) hates Brooklyn, LOL!

Why do you ask about the full-on elemental theme? Sorry if it is not obvious, my brain is pretty blah right now

ETA: Ha! Nevermind, looked up Aiden and it means "little fire". That is awesome! I could have an element theme. That would mean that I would need to have more kids though and I think DH would freak out if I said that!

Maris: Latin for "of the sea"
Inia/India: Sansrkit for body of water
Noelani: Hawaiian for 'mist of heaven'
Manami: Japanese 'beautiful ocean'
Dimah: Arabic for Cloud which carries rainwater
Iara: Brazilian 'water lady'
Nerina/Nerine: Greek for water
Sadira: Arabic for "Ostrich running from water"
Daria: Farsi for Ocean
Jiang: Chinese for river
Eathelin, Eathelyn, Edlen: English meaning "nobel waterfall'
Lana: Hawaiian for 'calm as still waters'
Wainani: Hawaiian for 'beautiful water'
Maya: Hebrew for water
Muirenn: Gaelic for white sea
Amadahy: Cherokee"forest water."

OK, back to grading.. I'm done crashing

Sapphire reminds me of the ocean.

Muriel is an Irish name for sea, I believe.

I'm totally crashing your forum, too.

What about Ione? It's the name of one of the water nymphs in Greek mythology. Here's a list of some of their other names.

I grew up in Hawaii, too, and my favorite Hawaii girls names (of kids I knew) were Leilani, Tianni, and Mele (pronounced Mel-lay, means song). It was very common to give an American first name and a Hawaiian middle names as well.

Hawaiian water ideas:
Pearl (Pearl Harbor)
Eva/Ewa (Ewa Beach),
Nalu (means 'wave')
Naia (means 'dolphin')

My babe's middle name is Marisol.. which means Sea and Sky literally but is more like an ocean sunset.

Not sure I can help. I'm not good with names, but we also wanted something that represented water, and specifically the ocean. We ended up with our girl's initials spelling SEA. Is there a way you could do something with the initials?

Not sure if that would work. Our last name starts with a "C". But that is a really cool idea though!

How about Dylan? I think it means "of the sea".

I love Kaia, it's so beautiful. I have a friend named Kaija (pronounced the same) and just love it!
