Twin name ideas?

OK, assuming the supposed girl child is really a girl child , we have her name picked out already-- Mary Beatrice, but we're calling her Molly. Now we need a boy name to go with. I don't know if I want anything too matchy-matchy. I thought about Matthew, but then I will have M&M twins. I'm seriously thinking Gideon for a middle name (and if you get the reference, 10 points to you.) And it can't be too different from my other kids' names-- Michael Clinton, Katherine Grace, Nicholas Martin, and Daniel James. Saints' names or Bible names are preferred.

Hit me with your best shot.

I totally vote for Matthew!

I think Noah Gideon goes nicely with Molly and your others

(Mary) Molly and Thomas

They would share the "ah' sound and the letter "M". Would a Molly and Tommy bother you, though?

My kids are M, M and M... but not on purpose at all (they were each given two names, one male one female. They all ended up being the gender of the M name... DS would have been J, DD would have been X or K and DD-on-the-way would have been A)

I dont personally see a problem with that.

If people mentioned you matching them, you can tell them the truth, no they were just two names you like and both happen to start with the same letter. Happens all the time (my mom has M, M, K, K, K and my dads two oldest are J and J)

Can I just say I love Mary Beatrice?
My mom is one of 4 sisters: Hellen, Beatrice, Emily and Mary.
I love all of those names, although Beatrice is one of my all time faves.
Sadly, I wasted it on my cat....

Not Simon.... then they would be S@M.

Id avoid Peter too... although you are calling her Molly... when she gets older she may choose on her own to be Mary (My son surprised me going with the normal version of his name over his possible nickname... he dislikes the nickname but loves his normal name) and then people would always be asking Peter and Mary where Paul is.

What's wrong with M&M? All of my kids are "J" and the next one will be too. Shoot- even DH and I have "J" names (I know, I know).

Bottom line- pick your fav name, no matter what.

We've also been looking for biblical or Hebrew names, so I'll spew off a few we've looked at...

Noah
Asher
Joel
Simon
Simeon
Thomas
Benjamin
Judah (ok, I have one of those!)
Samuel
Josiah
David
Paul

We have friends with a little boy named Gideon. He's one of my Judah's best buddies. Though, as I predicted, his name has been shortened (only by his mama!) to "Giddy." It should make a great MN, though!

I have twins M & S. I think the M & M concern is more valid with young children. By the time they have an idea of what S & M is, people won't group them together as much, IMO. And if this happens to cross the minds of adults, I think they would have enough tact not to bring it up in front of children, at least no one has even mentioned it to me in 3 + years.

We almost did S & S names, but the idea of twins sharing f & ln initials bothered me. We found an M name for DD that we fell in love with and of course it totally suits her.

Caleb
Joshua
Jeremiah
Malachi
Ezra

I have thought a lot about twins, lol...I like them to sound well together, but not necessarily match, KWIM? So I'll descent and say I wouldn't name them the same first initial unless you were planning on calling them something else. So, if I used Alexander and Adelaide, and called them Zander and Ada, I'd be okay with that. Tho Matt and Molly do sound cute and not too similar in sounds. I think I actually dislike rhyming names the most...

nameberry.com has a fun article on naming twins...

Two of my favorite people mentioned in the Bible are King Josiah and the Prophet Samuel.

Both lived outstanding lives and I love the names!

Molly & Sam would be cute

Thanks everyone.

I'm not judging anyone who has twins/sibs all starting with the same letter. I'm just not sure I want to do it. I really like Matthew though...

As for Mary Beatrice (Molly)-- when I was going through everything with the back to back miscarriages, I promised God that if we had a girl we would name her after His mama. I know God doesn't make deals, but I want to stick to my end of the bargain. And Beatrice is my husband's grandma's name. She's just lovely.

And no one got the Harry Potter reference. Gideon Prewitt was Molly Weasley's brother. DH said absolutely not on Hermione.
