Tell me about whole foods vitamins

I'm thinking about starting to take a whole foods (food source? not sure what the correct term is) vitamin/mineral supplement (i.e. a supplement where all the vitamins, minerals, etc. are directly from food, not synthesized in a lab) I'm having trouble finding info on them and my searches here aren't turning up much. Can someone give me a rundown of brands and prices, what to look for, reviews--really, any info whatsoever? I'm in Canada so that may limit what I can access in terms of brands, but I'm open to ideas. I'm also interested in this for my toddler.

I'm infertile and not breastfeeding, so I don't need something specifically tailored for pregnant or nursing bodies.

Okay, maybe if I'm more specific that will help!

After several hours of Internet reading today, here are the contenders at the moment:
Garden of Life Vitamin Code Raw
Rainbow Light
New Chapter
Country Life Realfood Organics

Anyone have feedback or experience with any of these?

I take the Garden of Life Vitamin Code ones -- I have been quite pleased. I take other supp's - vit. C, magnesium, CLO, zinc, b-vitamins -- so I'm not relying on a multi to give me everything.

My kids take the MegaFoods children's vitamins, and I know that they also make an adult version -- so you may want to check them out, too.

I'm in the US -- the best prices that I have found have been on Vitacost -
www.vitacost.com I don't know if they ship to Canada.

Thanks, Laura! I actually ended up ordering MegaFoods ones for me and DH via Vitacost just before seeing your post. They ship to Canada for just under $10 which still makes everything FAR cheaper than buying from a local store. I went with the NutriStart Multivitamin Powder from Rainbow Light for DD because I don't think she'd chew a gummy at this point (15 months). Hope they work.

I hope they work out for you!

I love New Chapter products and have had them for myself and for DS who is now almost 4 yrs old. My friend who has worked in the health food industry for years and is a book of knowledge feels they are the best. For the most part I buy the Nutri stars by rainbow light for DS and he loves them. The new chapter kids vitamin was a powder and he liked that too. I think you can't go wrong with any of these.
