How do I get pumpkin vine to stop spreading?

Can I just cut it and it will stop?

It is running amok a bit.

I read on here if you cut the vine you open up the chance for the plant to get diseased. That being said, we just cut a bunch of ours back. They've completely covered my tomato plants and I just can't be having that.

Can you double it back so it starts running back on itself? I now keep turning mine to redirect into the garden area I want them in. They're growing all over each other, but the pumpkin vines all seem happy with the situation.

you could put a cage (chicken wire) over plants the vines are infiltrating and let the vines run over the cage. I have seen it done - it is too much work for me though!

Next year I am giving my squash their own garden!

I have no idea, but what I did was plant the vines on the outer rows and let them grow out away from the garden. Same with out cantaloupes.

You could have my boys come over to step all over them, that seems to do the trick
