No Raising Sextuplets Thread?

Just watched a couple of Raising Sextuplets episodes on my DVR and I immediately had to check out what all of the Mothering Mommys were saying about the show.

There has to be someone else out their watching the show with one hand over their eyes.

Any thoughts? Does anyone else want to take the mommy and babies away from that husband and bring them back to their families?

I'm watching.

I'm also thinking this might be a good time to put on my Mod Hat and remind everyone that Kate Plus 8 rules apply, LOL!

I love the show - I have been watching it since it first aired maybe a year ago. They are a cute family (although I am not a fan of his parents at all!) The recent episodes really aren't how they normally seem on the show - I think that the move and all the stress that came with it has really affected them but I would hope that settling into their new house in Florida will help them return to some normalcy. (They also said on the show that they are expecting the move to be hard on them but that they needed to be on their own without their family's help and influence for awhile)

LOL, AnnetteMarie!

I watch this show. I don't know for how much longer. They sure do fight... a lot! Brian reminds me of my ex-husband a little bit (facially) so it kind of wigs me out a little. He seems really nice though, a little lazy and traditional, but whatever. Jenny can grate my nerves a bit, but I think she really tries hard to be a good mom. I can't imagine having to work that far away from my house. Her commute was a nightmare!

As far as them moving, wow. I know they want to "make it on their own," but good luck! I was surprised when they announced to their pastor/counselor that they had already talked about divorce. Yikes. I wonder how it's going to all turn out. I hope it's for the best.

Tonights episode just made me cringe. When Jeni told the little girl she was going to have to go upstairs and have a spoon taken to her bottom. And Brian tries to push her buttons like the am when she was so tired and had been up in the night with the kids and he keep saying they want you. I know they are overwhelmed but um...they brought some of it on theirselves moving to no help

I take back the "Brian seems really nice" part. I can't believe he locked Bailey in the bathroom for a time-out. Then Jenny with the whole spoon spanking idea. Oh man. They're going to have calls to CPS if they're not careful.

I did crack up a couple episodes ago when they made mention of Jon & Kate. You think they would've learned some tips. Perhaps they need to catch up on episodes of Table for 12. That family is so loving and wonderful.

I've been watching because the town they moved to is right by mine lol. We go there all the time so it would be crazy to run into them.

I thought it was odd they had someone from a parenting magazine come give them advice on sleeping arrangements. Locking the doors from the outside? Something about that just seems... off... to me.

Brian seems to have a huge issue with emasculation. Part of me wonders if this stems from his childhood (he was the only boy not to go into the family business- construction). Part of me wonders if it's based off of Jon & Kate's fiasco (he mentioned it in another episode). I think he could use some personal therapy to work through his emotions. I want to see this family succeed.

I was just getting on here to see if there was a thread for this yet. I like the show. I can't imagine how hard it must be to raise 6 two year olds though! It makes me wonder if it's even possible to be super attached to them like mothering.com promotes. 1 mommy can only go so far! The husband rubs me the wrong way too but you can tell they both love each other and want it to work. I wonder if his personality is what drew her to him in the first place, but once they had kids, it was like, "wait.." this isn't gonna work. You know? Can anyone imagine going from no kids to 6 over night and keep your relationship in tact without any outside help? I can't. I think it's great that they are in counseling. I think it would probably be the only way I'd be able to keep my relationship with my hubby going strong while raising 6 kids who are all at the same milestones. I didn't like the discipline techniques that they were taught, but at the same time, it seems like if everyone isn't getting enough sleep, then something needs to change. you know?

definitely think he's got an issue with emasculation. You can tell by the way he acts on the show.

I liked this show for a while but I don't know why I keep watching it.

The parenting expert told them specifically that the kids need to know they aren't coming back for any reason. Lock the door and don't go back until morning. I agree they need a routine, but do the kids never get sick in the night? Horrible.

And Jenny calling her mom and hinting that they need a playground? Why not just ask if they could pitch in?

On the days that Jenny works, Brian has to watch the kids from 3 until bedtime when he locks them in their room at 8 or whatever. And he is complaining and freaking out that he can't do it on his own. And then he won't get up so Jenny can get some rest after working til midnight.

I think the Jenny hinting about the playground was probably "scripted." I can bet she actually asked her off camera. Maybe so as not to look greedy? I don't know. The convo we saw was awkward and seemed pretty fake.

Season Finale aired tonight!

I was so happy to see Brian's parents make it down for his bday. How special that must have been for him. I got choked up when his dad got choked up saying goodbye. It looks like things are really looking up for their family. What a relief.
