I am so tired of summer. It's hot. I am hot. Bleh. - Page 2

oh no no no!!! i am a summer person.

even though its been unusually hot this year.

but still. keep the heat. keep the heat. i imagine it is going to be ridiculously cold winter this year too.

however this year i finally realised how my age shows in summer.

i am always so tired and sleepy. i wake up feeling tired.

and it only happens in summer.

the heat really saps my strength.

As far as I am concerned, summer can be cancelled. We have had a neverending heat wave, accompanied by stifling humidity. Five minutes out of the shower and I am sweatier than before I got in. I think that we are heading to high ground this weekend to escape the heat...

I am so over summer this year. NowI am generally a huge fan of Fall anyway but this year it can not come fast enough. I am trying to enjoy the weather and hang out at the beach as much as we can but I can not sit in the sun at all this summer. I am waay uncomfortable. So I hide under the umbrella, not too much fun.

DH is off this week and our day trips have been all about avoiding too-hot / too-crowded. So no beaches. Woods are too buggy for me. But we've hit on a few things: we visit historical sites and dart from one shade tree to another. And today we're going to an art museum. What's good enough climate-wise for a Vermeer is good enough for me.

DS1 is in the PNW and DS2 is in the desert southwest -- a couple of weeks ago, DS2 had cooler weather than the rest of us. My head started doing 360s!

I love summer, it is my favorite season by far yet this year, I am SO over it. Seriously, there are days I want to burst into tears because it is just so $*^&% hot.

Normally, I am not one to let the heat stop me but this year, it is brutal. We haven't been able to do so many fun things because of the heat.

Even my DH, who HATES, HATES, HATES winter with a passion said he is ready for summer to be over.

Saturday night was probably the apex. 100+ degrees with high humidity. Then the insane winds and rains came, with house shaking thunder and light-up-the-sky lighting. The power kept going off so no fans. We couldn't have the windows open because the wind was driving the rain into the house. This went on all night long. Good times, let me tell you...

Oh, and a 4 yo that wants to wear a wool hat all day long. And he wonders why he gets so hot and cranky. It got so bad that we became seriously concerned that he would get heat stroke. DH took the hat away from him for his own safety. So add a crying little kid to the list of misery.

I hate this heat. I'm in central fl and it has been triple digits-yet on the news it says 'high of 90!!!!' yeah, right, I know what 90 feels like and this ain't 90. Try about 13 degrees hotter. Heat index, whatever, if it feels like 103, it's freaking 103.
Bring on the fall, bring on the winter. I'm ready for pumpkins and the mad rush to get holiday gifts ready!
Yep, I'm over it too.

So far I think we've had a heat index of 110. The temperature for the last two weeks has stayed right around 98. No rain for weeks, but then it started raining last week so now we have 90 degree temps AND humidity. I'm happy from March-May and September-November, everything else I could do without.

Count me in! I'm dreaming of Fall. The heat and humidity (we have lots of both here) make me feel sick and fatigued. I can't wait to get back outside again when it cools off.

Thank goodness for AC!!!
I am soooo with you on this. Summer is my least favorite season and summer afternoons are my least favorite time of all. I'll take winter any day.

Heat sucks away all my energy. It's hard for me to go outside and do anything. When I hit that wall of heat I feel paralyzed. When I stand perfectly still and find myself wet and dripping from humidity I want to cry. And we still have August to get through.

Fall can't come fast enough for me.

Sorry, can't join in here. I just LOVE summer. I HATE winter. No matter how hot it gets, I don't complain.

I even turned the AC off in the main part of the house to try to save some $$$. AC still going in the bedrooms but really, if it was just me, a fan would do.

It's been in the mid-to high 80s here but LOTS of humidity.

It gets hot here which is bad enough but this summer has been unusually rainy (for this desert area) so the heat + humidity is just horrible.

Luckily I have AC in the house but we haven't really been able to go anywhere fun bc it's just too darn hot.

Plus, bc of all the rain I have found 3 roaches and 2 centipedes in my house in the last month! I hate bugs (especially roaches and centipedes) but the rain makes them all come out of the ground.

I am really afraid of centipedes so I had to wake up dh to get them for me since it was late at night, the kids were freaking out and yelling, "I don't want to die today!!!!!" (bc they are silly) and still, 4 wks later, the baby is randomly yelling "Die! Die! Die!"

So, yeah, add me to the ready for summer to be over camp.

Here too-can't go anywhere. Not to mention that in a week the MIL is making her once in a decade trip to see the kids-and bringing four of her other younger grandkids-and it's too hot to go anywhere, or to a park or really hang outside. Dh told her this would be a bad time of year because of the heat...but it's the only time she can bring the other kids with her so We have a super small house, too, so this should be...cramped. Just wish it was a nearer to winter trip so we could at least go outside somewhere.

Agreed! I thought I was the only crazy who didn't like summer. I've honestly been hoping for some cloudy days so I can garden without burning to a crisp. We've had 85 degree sunny days every day, and I feel like such an ungrateful wench complaining about them.

I also dislike intense air-conditioning ... so I lose either way.

Well of course you like summer, silly. Try living in the mid 90's with high humidity, and you can join the rest of us in our hatred.

I'm ready for fall. I love winter- snow doesn't keep us inside like the heat does. When you go outside and feel like you're breathing through a wet blanket because it's so hot & humid, yeah, that sucks. Give me some good sledding snow, a snowsuit and a cup of hot chocolate, and I'm good to go.

And OP, I'm in Indiana, too. It has been unseasonably hot here this summer. I'm ready for the leaves to change, to get some apple cider, go to the pumpkin patch and apple orchards - all that wonderful fall stuff.

no argument from me.

(not at your fear of centipedes. . .I can understand that, but a baby randomly yelling 'die, die, die!')

Yep, I am SO over summer. I usually like it for about a week, and then I'm ready for it to be cooler. It's been upper 90's here, heat index of 105-110, and humid. I could honestly stay naked all day, but I don't think it would help. And it would just be more skin for the bugs to bite. Ick. :-p

I'd probably like it better if our "summer" didn't last for a good 6 months. Warm and sunny is one thing, but if it's too hot to go outside, then what's the point of good weather?! I do love a good summer thunderstorm, though (not the ones that are actually dangerous, just the noisy/drenching ones).

Oh, and yea, in June here in Indiana we were having July/August weather! Yep, higher temps than normal for sure. Right now we are getting a brief respite...only got up in the 80s for awhile and though it's inching up again will only be 90 today. Still hot and humid, but not the same as 95-98 with all that awful humidity.

My hair...I have Hermione Granger hair ( from her younger days at Hogwarts) when the weather is like this.
