My dad has to have surgery at the end of August to remove his prostate. I am wondering if there are best practices out there for preparing for surgery - things he should be eating, doing, etc. He is fairly healthy and walks most days. He is 70 and in pretty good shape - he is only about 10 pounds overweight.

If anyone has any links or information on helpful things to do to prepare for surgery, i would appreciate it.
