possible whooping cough at my daughter's preschool---what would you do?

My cousin (and the assistant director of my daughter's preschool) just called me to say they have an unconfirmed case of whooping cough in a child who attends my daughter's preschool but on different days than my daughter. My dd goes T & Th mornings, this other child MWF. My concern is the risk of my dd contracting it from a child who goes to the school M-F.

I also have a 10 mo ds (at home w/ me).

I don't know if I should keep her home tomorrow (what about next week, etc.) Or just make sure we're giving her her vit d supplements....what?

posting in toddlers too

To me, it looks like there's always been a lot more WC around than we recognize, so I'd take it as an opportunity to review how I want to deal with WC (have you seen the old threads on using vitC to bowel tolerance from the first cold symptoms?) and then just watch to see what happens.

We had a prolonged coughing illness last fall, no idea where it came from, but looking at all our symptoms and how this illness seemed different than any other I've dealt with, WC seems a real possibility.

Tanyalynn, thank you for your response. Now that a little time has gone by after that call from my cousin, I've calmed a little. I'll work on boosting my kiddos' immune systems, first off. I'm looking back at old posts for the vit c info. I've not looked into treating WC before this, but certainly will now, thank you for the suggestion. Thanks again.
