garage sales w/ 2 kids

Does anyone have any tips on how to go to garage sales with 2 kids? DD is 3.5 years and DS is 6 months. I finally have a couple Fridays free and I'm dying to go, but I'm a little scared at the same time for some reason. Or maybe just lazy since I don't want to get both out of their carseats, only to find out the garage sale is a bust. So I'd love some tips if you have any advice on how to make this fun for everyone.

Thanks!

I pretty much stopped going, but when I did it was one in a sling and one in a stroller. I found going to resale shops to be a bit easier.

Look in the paper/craigs for places having neighborhood sales. That would be a lot better than getting in/out for each home.

Now that my kids are older and in school I sitll find myself going to resale shops once I drop them off.Have fun!

I like to go with my mom and then one person can run into the sale and check it out and the other can stay in the car with the kids. If it's really promising, then I go back to the car and get everyone out. Otherwise, like the PP said, neighborhood sales are nice where you can walk to multiple sales at once.

I check for sales in my neighborhood. There are usually 2-3 sales on a Saturday then I strap the kids in the double stroller and go for a walk. Hitting the sales just becomes part of our walk. I only get in the car and drive to a sale if the ad sounds really good or if they are selling something i really need.
