I have heard the stretchy ones like the Woombie described as "a head on a bag of angry kittens" and it's totally appropriate for Cecilia! She just doesn't do well with stretchy swaddles.

another vote for the miracle blanket. We used a small baby sheet thing for the first couple of months but then he got too big for that.
At 4 months + and about14+ lbs the miracle blanket works well.

As for wrapping it around a bunch of times- that is just the way it is designed. It is what keeps the swaddle tight.

Lol! That's pretty much what Max looks like when he tries to squirm out of his swaddle. I agree, for us the stretchy ones are just not tight enough.

Are all Woombies stretchy though?

I got an A&A blanket this time around for the first time (this is baby #3). It is BY FAR my favorite piece of baby gear. I love, love, love it. It's so big that it's easy to get a tight swaddle (for me) by wrapping over and over. I have a hard time getting other blankets tight enough.

With my second son, I did use a waffle weave knit blanket from Babies R Us that I liked reaonably well, especially for like $7.

But, this A&A blanket is the best thing I ever purchased.

I should say, my babies are pretty large--14 lbs by 1 month old.

My LO is almost 8 months old and we are still using the DreamSwaddle which comes from New Zealand (well, China-- but the company is in NZ). The company is called Mum 2 Mum and our kid is addicted to the thing! They have held up really well considering the amount of use they get! We had two smalls and now two large's...
