Can't figure it out.... any ideas?

I just have not felt well for days. I'm tired. I'm on and off nauseous. Sometimes I'm terribly hungry, sometimes I feel like I couldn't possibly eat. I have NO energy. And my abdomen has been hurting.... just a general ache. Kind of like gas pains, but no gas. And somewhat of an upset stomach sometimes.

I don't know what to do. I don't feel like there's anything definitive enough to be able to go to the doctor. What do I tell him? I don't feel well?

I just have so many things to accomplish. We have company coming tomorrow and I HAVE to clean and cook and do laundry and all that. But I just feel worthless.

ETA: I also have a nagging headache. And there is no way I am pregnant.

If you don't think it's some sort of viral bug, do you think it could be something related to all of the upcoming things you have to do with your company coming and all. I have recently learned to never underestimate what stress and anxiety can do to the body.

Hope you're feeling better real soon!

Yeah, stress can do that.

But, strangley, there's a virus going around our area (we're in east MS) that presents the same symptoms you're talking about. Some people are getting a fever, some aren't. It's lasting about a ~week and then clearing up (if there's no fever).

Nothing the dr can do...just said to wait it out unless a fever pops up.

Hope you're stuff clears up soon rather than later!!

All your complaints are symptoms of acid reflux. I had reflux for quite some time before actually experiencing heartburn.

Stress lowers your immune response. Everyone naturally has some number of pathenogenic organisms in their body all the time. Some people have more than others. When your immune system can't keep up, as during a stressful time, these "bad bacteria" can grow and it's hard on your body to fight them back. Both their growth ("flare ups") and when they are killed off ("die off") are hard on the body... all systems... adrenals, liver, kidney, etc... which have to detox and excrete the harmful waste products of both living and dead organisms.

Do you notice any patterns with what you are eating? Often eating simple carbs/sugars will lead to flareups, and these are often associated with food cravings. Mood swings are very common, as are headaches, back aches, feeling tired... Hunger is a sign that your body is after nutrients (vitamins and minerals) that are being used up to detox the waste products of bacterial die off. Supplementing with minerals can really help. Epsom salt baths are great for magnesium. My daughter and I need TONS of magnesium, it makes a huge difference in my mood/energy. Nausea is a sign that your body is fighting them off, usually a die off symptom.

I know this all sounds a little out there but I have been experiencing all this over and over again and firmly believe it's true. You can support your liver (stressed liver is the cause of reflux) with Milk Thistle. You can support your adrenals with Pantothenic Acid (B5). Support kidneys with cranberry, dandelion leaf, and tons of water. All of these things can help with fatigue, lack of motivation/energy.

The best thing you can do is start taking probiotics to replace the bad bacteria with good bacteria to reduce the toll that the bad bacteria are taking on your body. Healing diets can work wonders, too. I love the GAPS diet. Whatever changes you make, make them slowly so as not to stress your body too much at once.

Interesting ideas. The gastrointestinal stuff has gotten a lot worse, so maybe it IS a virus. I could sure stand for it to clear up, though. I feel darn right lousy.

And as for the stress idea, this isn't how my body reacts to stress. I also started feeling badly before I knew the company was coming, so I don't think that's it.

The other stuff is all possible. I'll definitely start with the probiotics since I have some anyway. And I haven't been eating much of anything, definitely not anything sugary or junky, cause I just haven't been able to stomach the idea of consuming either one.

Blech, just BLECH.
