Middle name help! :) - Page 2

Jessamyn sounds Kre8tive to me...and with all the Kre8tive spellings of "Jasmine/Jazmyn/Jasmyn/Jazzmyn" out there, I wouldn't venture into that territory. I don't know the history of the name, or if it's legit, but to me it sounds like when people combine names...like Mattalyn instead of "Madeline."

What about Jessalyn or Jocelyn?

I agree. I appreciate the suggestion but I don't like names that look like they have made-up spellings. Same thing with Jordan- I will only spell it "Jordan"

Someone suggested Jasmine... I really like it but at the same time I think it's wayyy overused.

...just a suggestion, but if girl J names aren't doing it for you, how about reversing your intial trend with girls and doing an A. J. name?

Well, Jessamyn West was born in 1903 to Quakers, who aren't known for outlandish naming practices.

Jessamyn is an old English variant of the French Jessamin and the Persian Yasmin, both meaning Jasmine. It's definitely not new kree8tyv.

(But I hear ya on Mattalyn and those types of names)

No, totally... I get that it's an old name. It's just so similar (sound/construct-wise) to made-up names. Too bad, too, because it's lovely.
