Where should baby nap?

Sorry if this has been posted before - I did search past threads but I'm still not sure about this.

This will be our first baby -- due in September. We want to co-sleep, and I'm wondering what are some good ideas for when the baby naps during the day (and I'm not with him/her)? We have a king size bed that is very firm. And, I thought it would be ok to have baby sleep on it for daytime naps...but then, when baby is more mobile? Is a barricade of pillows on the bed a bad idea?

This article on mothering says: Do not put baby to sleep alone in an adult bed.

So - where should baby nap? (or, maybe how should baby nap)?

thanks!

I side-carred the crib to my bed so the baby had its own sleeping surface.

I know they say not to do it, but DD has napped in our bed from day 1. When she was little i just took everything off the bed.

We registered for a pack n play, just for this purpose. We figure we can put it in whatever room of the house ends up being most convient. We are co-sleeping at night, but I know I won't always take naps with him. I'm due in september as well. I know a lot of times my nephew would end up napping in the stroller, or in the ergo! My sister would just wear him for an hour or so.

All of my kids have napped in the bed. It never was a issue. I was just sure to be able to hear them when they wake to try to catch them before they fell out of bed.

My kids napped in the family bed, too. We had our mattress on the ground and kept all pillows and blankets off the bed.

Cain has napped in the family bed since day one. The first few weeks he'd nap in the pack-n-play but mostly our bed. We have the bed on the floor and when he was younger we did the the whole no pillows or fluffy blankets thing. Never had any problems.

I just assumed this one will do the same.

My kids nap in the family bed until they start to roll over, turn around, etc. Frankly, they tend to nap on me after that point, but we do have a crib for naps. I find it nearly impossible to put a sleeping baby into a crib without waking them up, though.
