Why is my hemp wearing out?

I have a mix of fitteds that I use regularly- some all cotton, and some cotton/hemp. Some of the hemp ones are getting threadbare in some places. I bought them used from a diaper service, but they looked fantastic when I got them. I've had them for less time than the all cotton.

Is there a laundry treatment or additive that is known to wear out hemp? I've not used bleach or vinegar, I don't think. I usually use a "natural" laundry detergent, and sometimes use a washing soda based (I think) laundry booster, Tide, and Dawn.

I have heard that enzymes are not good for hemp, and have had issues with things like BioKleen BacOut on hemp. My hemp has often been the first to wear out, though. Of course, it seems I'm really hard on diapers because I have a *lot* of wear on the mediums I've had for both of my boys. But hemp, invariably, gets worn thin eventually. I would guess because they were used already (and from a diaper service where they'd have pretty intense washing cycles), that it shortened their life. I wouldn't think just a few months of your use would do it alone.
