infected cuts

why do my small minor cuts keep getting infected lately?
just wondered if there could be a reason for this, I have had several small cuts/skin injuries lately, and each of them has gotten infected and been difficult to heal. A popped blister on my foot (from new shoes), a hang nail, a burn on my hand (from toaster oven), etc

right now my hand is all red and sore surrounding the burn mark.

I experienced this when I lived in a hot/moist environment once, and its definitely hot here, but not humid.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

are you putting anything on them? I turned out to be allergic to bacitracin and neosporin and so it looked like they were infected, but it turned out it was bubbling and red from the reaction. Just a thought.

Second thought....My DD2 used to go from nothing to infected in 10 seconds flat, and it was when her immune system was overloaded, because we didn't know all of her food intolerances. After those were all removed and we started healing, her reaction to slivers and stuff diminished too.

I don't think its in reaction to anything I put on them. I usually don't do much other than keep it clean. If it starts looking red I may put either neosporin or a drop of lavender oil...
its just weird that each cut has been getting really infected, like my hand with the burn, the whole hand was red and a little swollen and sore.
Didn't know if it might indicated some kind of deficiency...
or like our house has bacteria sitting around waiting for an open cut... I don't know...

Iodine rocks for cuts. My DS's father never washes or disinfects and we've had some issues lately. Iodine stops the infection/redness really fast and is beneficial to the body.

Given that I've just spent the last several months intensively studying thyroid issues I have to mention this is a symptom of low thyroid too.

Wow, this is really interesting.... and good to know!

I just wanted to add that we use silver spray or drops for cuts and love it!
