Our school's craft fair is coming up and we need to think of about 4 different kid's crafts that can be put together as "kits". We're trying to think of things that can be kitted in a way that is complete enough to take home and do but also want them to be easy/quick enough that the project can be done at the fair in the space set up. This part of the craft fair was a big hit last year. We had wet felting to make round ornaments, tied wool dolls, rolled beeswax candles, and potting small plants. We don't want to repeat the same things entirely so are looking for some new ideas. We've come up with corn husk dolls, pouring sand candles (logistics of this could be tough), making some kind of percussion instrument (like stringing wood beads across a sling-shot shaped stick and decorating it), a simple origami project... but are looking to extend our list. We want to stay away from things the children do in class -- finger knitting, painting, mostly. If anyone has some ideas, particularly tested ones, it would be much appreciated.

How about felted soap?
As for musical instruments . . . at the May Fair here, they had a station set up where they had paper towel/toilet paper rolls, popsicle sticks, dry beans and paint for the kids to make maracas. I think they were already assembled and the kids just painted the paper towel/toilet paper rolls. They were stapled shut on one end and stapled to the popcicle stick on the other end.

Thanks for the ideas. Fairy wands and God's eyes -- don't know why those didn't occur to any of us. I also like the idea of a re-use station making instruments from recycling -- though some of the group might be more interested in sticking with natural materials for the fair. Thanks again.
