My name is Eva, and as my title suggested, I am separated and soon-to-be divorced. I have 4 children, ages 14, 9, 4 and 2; my older two children are technically step, but I have been raising them for more than 8 years and consider them wholly my own. They live with my ex, but I have liberal visitation and I spend time with them every chance I get. I have been a SAHM for 7 years, but I am currently seeking employment so that I can support myself and my two younger children; my ex, while not a complete deadbeat, is also not inclined to be a decent provider, so it has fallen to me to be the breadwinner for my babies and me. I have a special someone (he came well after the marriage ended, I am NOT that kind of girl) and we are planning a life together that we are hoping will be made official sometime late next fall. He has two girls, 12 and 13, and we want to have a couple more of our own; it's kind of scary thinking of having 8 kids in various stages of life and development, but I'm nothing if not adventurous.
