Terry cloth prefolds?

I would like to make my own prefold diapers and I have TONS of terry cloth fabric. I think I have seen a tutorial for a prefold made with flannel and terry, but I don't think I have seen one with just terry. Would an all-terry prefold be logical? Would it be too difficult to clean up? Last as long? Be soft enough on baby's bottom etc. etc. I'm still new to all the cloth diapering. Thanks so much for any info and advice.

i make my cloth wipes out of terry and flannel. i would think that the terry would be too rough for a diaper that is constantly touching the skin. Could you maybe use the terry but put a flannel strip down the middle? (or depending on how you put it on put a softer fabric in the sensitive areas?).

i would also think that the poop would stick pretty bad. maybe if you made all the layers terry but put one soft layer on the top?

Thanks Weezix. I was kinda thinking the same thing about the sticky poo and being a little too rough on the bottom.
Great minds think alike, I am also wanting to make cloth wipes and I wanted to do the flannel on one side and terry on the other. I understand this is very dooable (and good to see that you are already doing this and seem to like it).
I am interested in the "actual" way prefolds are made, like the tutorial from verybaby.com and if I do that, I think I could use flannel as the bottom layer and terry as the top. Then when it all folds together, the terry would be completely inside the flannel part I think. And the terry I have is fairly thin so I don't think it would be too bulky, but not sure. I guess I will just have to make one and see how thick it turns out.

Thanks again, and if anyone else has any comments or ideas please feel free to add!

Terry nappies have been the norm in the UK till recently, even now a lot of fitted are terry.
I found it a great nappy fabric, all those loops hold newborn poo better than anything else I have used. Later we used fleece liners, once they were on solids it made clean up much easier.

Line drying in a hard water area did leave them a bit stiff sometimes but a few minutes in the drier and they are lovely and fluffy.

I would not want to have to many layers of terry as it does take a while to dry. I like the idea of using another fabric on one side, then you could choose which side you want on top each time you change.
