Ds is 10 days old. Since day one he's been very happy to sleep in 3-4 hour stretches at night. During the day his longest stretch is about 2 hours. When he's not asleep he's nursing. Our night goes like this...12-1am we go to bed (our family typically goes to bed at 11). I nurse Ds in bed until he falls asleep, about 20 minutes. Ds wakes up at 4-5am. We do a diaper chage, nurse, another diaper change. Then we go back to bed with Ds nursing about 5-10 minutes before he falls back asleep. We wake up for the day around 8am. Upon waking we nurse in bed for about 20 minutes.
Is he sleeping too much?? He really hates being woken up to nurse and needs 10-20 minutes of calming down if he's woken up for just the purpose of nursing.
Nursing is going so great I'm looking for an issue I think.....no nipple soreness, great latch (with help on days 1-3 with a knowledgable LC at the hospital), birthweight was 7lbs1oz in the hospital he got down to 6lbs10oz, on Monday he was 6lbs13oz and ped said he was gaining well.

Enjoy it! As long as he's gaining well there's no reason to wake him to nurse.
