Did I just poison my dd and me? Freaking out here.

It's been a bad, bad day. So for lunch we made mac and cheese (the pure junky kind). After eating it I noticed that the date on the milk was 7/24. Did I just poison us? I don't really do dairy much...but I think it smelled ok? (it all smells bad to me).

I'm an emetaphobic and I'm actually here crying/panicking cause I'm so scared. Did I mess up?

You did not poison yourself - it might just be milk that is off but that is not a big deal. Your are only a few days off the best before date.... I would not worry another second about it personally! Hope your day turns around!

No, you didn't . Everything should be just fine.

Keep in mind that the date on the milk is probably a "sell by" date not a "use by" date. So that should buy you a few days.

If it smelled like normal fresh milk it is fine. Even slightly off milk probably wouldn't hurt you, I think. And if milk is really bad, you would KNOW. Unless it was so bad that it had separated completely, so you weren't smelling the worst part of it (which sinks), but then you would have known quickly when you poured it.

You'll be fine. Though sometimes milk starts to go sour on the sell-by date, it often is good for a few days past, and occasionally goes bad before. I bet that if it was really bad, you would have noticed, but even if it was, it still wouldn't make you sick, at least that's what I bet.

if you were able to actually drink the milk than your probably ok, at worse you might get the runs But highly unlikely as it was most likely a sell by date and if the milk smelled fine and didnt have a funky/goopy taste it was probably ok. Bad milk is very distinct in odor/taste.

I think you'll be fine. Sell by and expiration dates honestly do freak me out at times, but when it comes down to it, you would have likely noticed if the milk was bad - either the mac 'n cheese would have tasted funny or you would have smelled it pouring it in. It's a really small amount of milk, anyhow. Just drink a bunch of water if you are really concerned.
