I'm about 9 weeks pregnant and nothing sounds good EXCEPT fried mexican food with lots of salsa and quac My nutrition is usually very good but the past few weeks food doesn't sound good in general. I don't feel like throwing up I'm getting an constant queesy feeling IFYKWIM? How do you now worry about the baby getting all the nutrients it needs when You just CAN'T eat like you should?

baby takes nutrients from you before you get them. you will be totally sucked dry before baby loses any.

are you taking prenatals? that does help some.

however, if you are eating mexican foods you are getting proteins, salsa is good for vitamins...

really, I lived on mexican food first tri... mexican food and cheeseburgers, thats all I could keep down! but baby is fine. Baby gets what they need even if you dont!

Yup! I ate mac and cheese for my first trimester because I could NOT NOT NOT eat anything else. Midwives said that its better that I was eating garbage than not eating anything at all - you need the calories!
Plus, salsa and guacamole sound awesome!

actually that sounds good! But I won't even tell you my diet and I am 16 weeks (lets say it's mostly fried - for some reason fried food sits better)

I don't like to say this because it's kind of flippant, but there are women who have survived on less than healthy diets due to circumstances they can't control and have healthy babies

Ya I've never been into fried food but it does sound more calming to my stomach right now...weird isn't it? I least I can tolerate some raw milk fine

MMMMm do I ever want Mexcian food now, especially with salsa & guac!

Ya, I agree, better than eating nothing! I saw my m/w @ 9 wks and she said the same thing, eat what you can, when you can, baby is getting nutritions from your nutrient stores. In a couple weeks when you feel better you can eat and prepare healthier foods.

I think there could be a lot worse than mexican though!
