My CPMs can't legally give me a Rhogam shot and they recommended I try just going to the ER for it. Has anybody else done this? How did it work out? I haven't gotten a "28 week" Rhogam shot and am thinking about going this Saturday morning just to see how it is in case this baby turns out RH positive and I need one after the birth.

You can go to the ER.... but that is not a very practical solution postpartum!
Do you have a doctor who will write a prescription/order for you? Then you could at least just go to a clinic.
Will your midwives do the cord blood testing for you?
My midwife can order and administer Rhogam (which I've needed 3 times now postpartum). I did have to go into an ER once because of a fall on vacation and it was a pretty big hassle (like 4+ hours of a hassle).
Good luck figuring something out!

I asked my family practitioner and they said no. My midwife will do the blood type test but they can't give me a prescription and I don't know how else to do it. Going to the ER within 72 hrs post partum doesn't sound like fun but I'm not sure how else I could do it.
On the plus side, since it is somewhat planned I can go at a down time, like Saturday morning, and it is a very small ER (unattached to a hospital) so they're rather slow usually.

I went to an ER room to get Rogham during a miscarriage. It took a really, really long time there, but I did get the shot at the end. They insisted on testing my blood type, even though I told them I was O-. I think I was there all day (although I also had an ultrasound, which took time).
