My oldest son is 17. I have no idea whether or not he's retractible, and I've never asked. I don't really think it's any of my business. If he ever has any concerns about his own penis, he can tell me he needs a doctor's appointment. He doesn't have to tell me why, if he doesn't want to. In a couple more years, he can make the appointment himself.

I've never instructed either of my boys on how to clean it. DS1 has very good personal hygiene. DS2's hygiene is still partly up to us, but it's also quite decent. DS2 is retractible, which I know, because he started at age 3, and wanted to show everybody his "new trick" for the first few weeks.

I never even considered circumcision and I guess my GP knows his stuff, because I had no idea, until I came to this forum, that there was/is so much controversy and...stuff...about the care of an intact penis. It's so incredibly easy and such a complete non-issue, yk?

To the PP who asked for care info...bring this to your Doc and get it signed

I had never seen this agreement before. I like it, but would have changed the language to "he was kept intact, on purpose". Just one of my idiosyncracies... over the years at wellness fairs people have mentioned to me that the term "left intact", which I was using, can have connotations of unintentional oversight, abandonment, dereliction... so, I've made an effort to personally use "keep intact" because it suggests an affirmative vigilance.
