help me find a history plan for 1st grader

I like the Well Trained Mind suggestion of Ancients for grammar stage but I am just not that impressed with Story of the World...or any of the curricula written by Susan and Jesse Wise...it is just to dry for me, my teaching style and DD's learning style. I have switched from everything they had to other stuff.

I am looking for something that studies history in chronological order, includes Biblical stuff, can have workbooky stuff with it that isn't dry and borning.

If anyone has any suggestions I will research them all!
Thanks!

Have you looking at Pandia Press History Odyssey? It does not meet the qualifier of including biblical stuff, but does meet your other needs. You can use Story of the World and/or Usborne's Internet Linked Encyclopedia of World History as a spine. There aren't any worksheets, but mapwork is recommended and included. Other than being a schedule there is recommended books and activity books, as well as the use of History Pockets if your child would like that. You can see a try before you buy sample at their website. Also the History Pocket you can preview the whole book on its own website too.
