My DD is 2 and ever since her upper lateral incisors came in her upper four front teeth have been chipping. The lateral incisors are chipped so bad that they are almost down to the gums. Now the front central incisors have begun to chip.
I was very concerned before but everything I read said that a dentist wouldn't be able to do too much anyway. Now that the front ones are chipping I'm even more concerned.
I'll give you some background info:
-She eats well, she is pretty much gluten and corn free. She eats all
whole foods. She drinks only filtered water. She does not drink cow's milk but she does eat yogurt, cheese and butter. She gets juice very rarely and usually as a homemade popsicle.
-While I was pregnant and during her first three months of life I was taking prednisone. (I only mention that for a potential of some type of deficiency.)
-We have heard her grinding her teeth while sleeping but she doesn't do it while she is awake.
-She is still breastfeeding.
-Teethbrushing has been an ongoing struggle but she does brush her teeth at least once a day. We recently started her with using toothpaste. We use non-flouridated Epic Xylitol Toothpaste.
-DH was recently to the dentist and asked him about it. He thought that maybe it was just an enamel problem.
So with this information, does anything pop out at anyone as to anything we can do differently? She's such a happy girl and it's so sad to see those teeth broken when she laughs and smiles. I'm also concerned about the lateral incisors that are almost at the gum line because I don't want her adult teeth effected.
