First b-day gift

I need some help coming up with a 1st birthday gift for my dd. Dd is my 3rd child, so she has a lot of handed down toys, and I'm just totally blank on what to do for her. I'd love something natural, or hand made, but am open to anything we don't already own.

Ideas please!

TIA,

Well, this doesn't meet your critera, but we're getting Vivi a Corolle Calin doll for her birthday, and a Tidoo doll (Corolle that can go in the tub) for Christmas. I also might get her this recycled milk jug tea set for Christmas, too, even though she'll be quite young for it.

You may want to browse around Etsyfor cooooool handmade stuff.

How about a super sweet Waldorf doll that looks like your DD? We got our DD a Bamboletta Doll for her bday.

For ds' first I made him a felt book with photos of close family members in it. For the photos I printed them on special paper that then irons onto fabric. It turned out pretty well & gives him something special to look at in the car.

I love this!

For oldest dd we got a small fish tank and some fish. She loved watching them!

For second dd I can't remember, I am sad I didn't get her anything special.

For dd#3 I will either be making her a doll or buying her a handmade doll. Something soft that she can cuddle and love for years

Thanks for the ideas. Sounds like I should look hard at a doll- I've made one for each of my older kids, but can't seem to settle on a pattern I like for one for dd- either waldorf or one from www.bitofwhimsydolls.com I'm also debating a pettiskirt to wear for her one year old pictures.

More ideas are welcome!

Is it bad that my DD3 is getting nothing but a white noise machine for her 1st b-day??? (more for me than for her!) Ha ha, poor child is definitely the 3rd child and needs nothing! I promise I'll make her a cake. Lol!

What about a class at the local community center or nature center. Ours offers lots of mommy-baby classes, like swimming, and music and a gym type class.
