smallish diaper bag?

Now that I've finally acclimated to this whole being a parent thing, I find that I don't need to carry around quite as many things as I used to for DS. Also I'm finding it cumbersome to carry this huge heavy bag, my chunker, plus balance my keys/drink/whatever. So, I want to downsize a little bit.

What I have now is a Skip Hop stroller bag thing, and it's just too tall and I find myself cramming it with everything. I would like something that has a smaller strap, like it would fit under your arm as a purse. However, I don't want it to be immediately obvious as a diaper bag, but built so that I can pull out a diaper and not 20 other things fall out.

Do any of y'all have a diaper bag that you just love love love?

The Fleurville Sling Tote I have sounds like it would fit the bill. That's the retail; I got mine for $30 on diaperswappers from a mama who needed more fluff!

It holds a decent amount, has lots of little pockets and compartments in the two side pockets and a key carabiner. There's a long strap that you can put on it, or you can use the two handles. It's pretty versatile! I get lots of compliments on it, and more than one person has said that they thought it was a regular purse until I told them it was a diaper bag.

Maybe just a bigger purse? I just keep a plastic grocery bag, a couple of diapers, a few wipes in a baggie, and an extra onesie in case of a blowout in my purse, and most of the time leave the big diaper bag with all the "stuff" in the car. Sometimes I can even tuck a lightweight ring sling or hotsling in there too.

PM'd you!

I also gave up with diaper bags and now I just use a medium sized purse. Diaper bags are either huge, ugly or $$$.

I purchased a JuJuBe BeTween a couple of months ago. I am very pleased with it. I considered the BeLight but it did not have enough organization/pockets, and it seemed like the strap would be uncomfortable if contents got a little heavier (water bottle for example).

A key point for me (along with the small-but-roomy-enough factors) is that it has a nice long adjustable strap, making it great to wear while baby is on my back.

Thanks for all the replies! The BeLight looks pretty awesome, and has a good price tag for a second diaper bag. Yay!

I use a le sport sac purse for quick trips. it has multiple pockets and is big enough for a couple of diapers, travel wipes, my wallet, cell phone, keys and a few other things.

I second the suggestion of using a regular purse.

We don't have a diaper bag here. We use a transparent plastic bag ( those that bed sheets come packed in). It can be easily tossed inside a purse or under the stroller (city dwellers). Because it's transparent, you can quickly spot what you need in it. I also carry an even smaller transparent bag in it for small things ( teething gel, hand sanitizer, cloth wipes and wipe solution.) Very very quick to spot what needs (or not) daily replacement too.

My mom makes bags, we decided to wait after the birth so we could have one made according to our needs (that I couldn't antecipate). That's how we ended up with the bed sheets package solution.

Not good for bottles though. In our case, we have a medela ice pack/bag thing that is only used when I'm not around.

It's not for everyone, but I love Vera Bradley. I like the "tote" size purse, and that's what I use. FWIW, I have 3 kids with snacks and drinks (2 in diapers), and it's big enough for that, plus it acts as my purse. And the patterns make me smile.

Same here. I have a VB "Cargo" bag that I got on ebay for like $30 in one of my fave patterns. Holds everything I need for both my dd's, my stuff and a wrap. I like it better than the backpack that I use to schlep around.

I just bought a bag. Its not a nappy bag at all. I bought it at the garden centre. It looks like a Cath Kidston bag - similar fabric but its handmade by a different company. Its perfect. Looks like this: http://www.prlog.org/10255559-cath-k...ake-up-bag.jpg Its a shopping 'tote' bag. I like it because I love CK! and it fits everything in it nicely! Theres a pocket inside for my keys and stuff and a pocket outside too - that currently has a baby hat in it. Inside I have extra breastpads, a muslin, a few cloth nappies and a wet bag for dirty ones as well as a few little toys and his potty bowl (we do EC). Holds plenty but isn't too big. Size is comparable to this photo: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_MOPTOY46wi...hopperTote.jpg It is also made of a very strong thick fabric. So - durable!

I have this http://www.zappos.com/overland-equip...rm-blue-sprout

I got it for much cheaper though on 6pm.com-LOVE IT. I can carry water bottles, diapers, and extra set of clothes. My DS has never needed that much "stuff" so I got this and it's great.
