4 day delayed reaction?

DS has been on a major elim for a couple months now. We had our first gluten 'oops' on Monday. He found a single little cracker under the seat in the car in about .2 seconds. He had no immediate reaction. This happened on Monday, and just today (Friday) he had 3 huge nasty 'allergy' diapers that is something he definitely experienced on a daily basis before we did the elim.

Could this possibly be a delayed reaction from the cracker? I am trying to track this down because if it is possible, that is our most likely culprit and I'd know he needs to stay off gluten for sure. If it wasn't likely, I need to figure out WHAT he got a hold of that could have possibly caused this.

Four days is an awfully long time before a reaction occurs, but it's possible. It's also possible that the gut inflammation started sooner than that, but you didn't see the bad diaper from it until later. Had you started anything else new in the those 4 days?

my wheat reaction takes 3 days from ingestion to heartburn and a rash on my arm. dd2 also has a delayed reaction.

It is an awfully long time...we did have some new foods, but no new ingredients if that makes sense. Only thing I can think of is a fruit leather, but I suppose that is something that I can try again and see what happens with. Looking back, I am thinking the reaction really started earlier because we had a pretty miserable week behavior wise and after that poop, he got back on track in that department, so maybe that was the final 'exit.'
