Hi everyone, this is my first time in this forum! DH and I have 2 DD's and we are now trying for a 3rd and final DC. I'm sooo excited. I have a question though. I am not charting, although I plan to start. My cycles are 25-31 days long. I don't know when I ovulate. We DTD on cycle day 11-12. Is it at all possible that it could be the right time to conceive? Any input would be much appreciated!

Honestly, you could be ovulating anywhere from cycle day 10 (with a 15 day luteal phase and a 25 day cycle) to day 21 ( with a 10 day lp and a 31 day cycle). So yeah, its definitely possible those were good days to try, if you ovulated around there, but if you didn't ovulate until day 21 or so, your chances are pretty slim if those were the only days you did the deed.
Best bet is to use opks or chart, I'm recommending opks mainly because it seems like your cycles aren't overly long, so you probably only have 1 surge, but there is a possibility with opks that you get a positive and then your body decides not to ovulate - so its best to temp and make sure you actually did ovulate.

yep there's a chance. just to clarify though, actually it's up to 5 days before (3 is more of what you might expect to really work in real life, but more is possible under perfect conditions) and 1 day after. once the egg is released, it disintegrates in probably about 12 hours, maybe a little bit more or maybe less. so once your temp is up, you may have a few hours to catch it, but it is less than 2 days for sure. it may sometimes happen that you can o a second time within 24 hours, so you can think of 2 days after as a possibility in that case, but i just mention this because i dont want anyone to plan to dtd on o day or later and think they are timing it well! you want to dtd before o, preferably!

Well, today is cd14. We dtd on cd8, 11, and 13. But like I said I don't really know when I o. Soooo, we'll see. We'll keep up with dtd for a few more days incase I o late in my cycle. I kind of think today was the day though, just based on cm. Fingers crossed!!!
I will def update if I start having symptoms or after I test. I just hope my mind doesn't play tricks and make me imagine symptoms! Actually I think I'm already imagining them but it's waaaaay too soon for that!
