My dd seems to be pretty textbook unlike my other 2. With my first I think there were sleep regressions, but since she was my first it wasn't noticed too much because I could catch extra sleep during the day when she napped. My second never slept because of food allergies, so any regressions went totally unnoticed. Now, dd#3 had the 4mo sleep regression. It wasn't too bad. By the time I realized what was going on, it was on it's way out. About a week before she turned 9mos she started the 9mo sleep regression. We are now on at least week 3 of this and I am tired :yawning Also, I enjoy a little downtime in the evening, which isn't as possible when she is waking hourly. Occasionally she is sleeping 2 hours and rarely 3 at a time. During the day she usually takes only 1 nap. If I have her nap in my lap she may go for 2 hours otherwise it is just an hour. She may sleep longer in my lap, but after 2 hours I have to get up and get things done.
What will be the thing to end this? I expect she will be walking at about 10mos as she took her first solo steps right at 9mos and with my other 2 they started walking a month after those first solo steps. Is that the big thing that will end it? She is also teething right now, but I know that isn't the only source of sleep issues because in the past Motrin at bedtime has done the trick and that isn't working this time.
She is pure joy during the day. A very happy and social baby who is quick to smile and only fusses when hungry or tired. At night when she wakes she screams out but she goes right back to sleep most times (I can count on one hand the number of times nursing back to sleep hasn't worked).
When can I expect some relief?
