Proactiv

I used this stuff when I was pregnant with DS and got the okay from my previous OB. Now with this one, I'm not sure I want to continue using it.

If I just used my regular soap and just the proactiv toner and the green tea moisturizer, that should be mild, right? I'm sure my skin will look nasty but avoiding chems gives me peace of mind...

Haha funny, I work from home selling that stuff (among other things!) Their official stance is "ask your doctor." I wouldn't be worried about it hurting the baby or anything, but the active ingredient can be really drying to your skin when you're pregnant and you've got hormonal changes going on.

I used the regular 3 steps during my last pregnancy with no ill effects. I'm not using it this time because I quit using it when my daughter was 5 months old because it doesn't work very well... I am occasionally using a Clinique acne lotion that contains benzoyl peroxide though.

It's probably all safe, but I know what you mean about peace of mind. I really miss my salicylic acid facial toner which my husband made me quit because of the hypothetical risk of Reyes syndrome. (It worked way better than anything by Proactiv too btw.) I think there's a small amount of salicylic acid in my face soap still, but I figure it gets washed off before too much can be absorbed into my bloodstream.

I'm glad to see this post. It's the only thing that works for me but I was concerned about using it while pregnant.
