Fundal Height Question (Measured ahead....now way behind)?

So my entire pregnancy I have measured at least 3-4 weeks ahead. For a while I have kind of been catching up to myself. About 3 weeks ago baby dropped so I figured this was why. Well last week I was measuring right on and now this week I am measuring 3 weeks behind! I am 37 weeks and measuring 34 cms. Last week I was 36 measuring 36 cms. Before that I was, as I said, always measuring ahead...so 30 weeks measuring 34 cms, for example. The same OB is measuring me everytime and she seems (to me at least) to measure the exact same way everytime.

If anyone has any insight on why this would happen/what it could mean I would truly be appreciative. Thank you!

I would postulate that it's a matter of positioning. Remember, fundal height is not a very good estimate of growth. It's not unusual to have some weird numbers at the end of pregnancy. It might also be that your fluid is a bit low. Being the height of summer (even if you're in Canada and it's not THAT hot! ), it's entirely possible that you're somewhat dehydrated. Drink up - a LOT - and don't worry.
