2Happy Momma's!

WOOHOO!!

GREAT news!

Thank you all for the kind words, it was a pretty cranky, angry, emotional day for sure, but Im sure Ill get over it soon and start preparing for next cycle. It's hard to not feel like a fool, but I know I'm doing absolutely EVERYTHING possible to track that damn egg, and that is ALL I can do.

The first of my three preggo BFFs is having her c-section tomorrow (the baby stopped growing) so here goes the chain of little ones... the others are due next week

PS: I was thinking today, that with every month I am getting more and more bitter, and I SO DON'T want to be that way. I know it goes against all of the positive thinking/energy that I am trying to create for this process and this baby, but it sure it getting difficult.

Hi, can I join you here? I am a 31 year old SMC, trying to conceive my third child now. I am still nursing my 2.5 year old every couple hours day and night, but am cycling regularly. This is my first attempt at Donor Insemination and I am doing it at home, intra-vaginally, myself.

I did an insem on Sunday and again on Monday, using a donor from Repromed here in Canada. The sperm bank sent a requisition for a Progesterone test only seven days after the Monday insem. Can they really diagnose pregnancy that early?

I am hearing about some amazing success rates from you ladies, like 2 or 3 pregnancies in 5 insems. I am wondering if you have been doing clinical IUIs or just syringes at home like me?

Anyway, I will keep watching and learning here. I'd love to get to know everyone else and hear how your journeys are progressing.

Welcome, KCMommy!

the 7DPO Progesterone test is just to detect ovulation. they will not test for HCG and you will not find out if you are pregnant.

as far as the question about clinical IUIs or at home ICIs the answer varies... some people are even doing at-hone IUIs! personally, my partner and i did at-home ICIs (with a syringe, like you) for 6 cycles. we then got the referal to the RE and switched to in-office IUIs. i got pg on the first try, miscarried, waited 3 cycles and did it again. i got pg the second time as well. so far, so good....

you should have decent luck doing at-home insems if you have good timing, especially if your vials are not washed. ours were and i think that is part of why we weren't successful doing at home ICIs.

Good Luck! you have found a great group of ladies!!

2happymams - Congratulations!

KCMommy -

2ezforyou - sorry to hear about your progesterone test.

AFM: Well I think it's a good thing I missed last month's O. This has been a very stressful week. One of my cats became very ill and had to be euthanized. Then yesterday I went to my car after work and some loser broke the passenger side door and rifled through my stuff. They didn't take anything luckily - of course the only thing to take was my DS' carseat and diaper bag - but now we have to find replace the window.

And to top it off I started AF last night at 10:30 - so my question to all of you - should I count yesterday as CD 1 or would you count today? If it's yesterday than I only had a 9 day LP which is a little short. But on the positive side I am now headed toward my first IUI.

2mamas!!!! Yay!!!!!!!! I've been thinking and worrying about you and I'm so glad to hear that things are going well. Do keep us posted for sure~ especially about your ultrasound! Although yeah, probably not twins, sorry. Still, one is enough for now!!

2ez~ Yikes! That's upsetting news after a clomid cycle. Do the docs have any idea what it might be all about ?

KCmama~ Welcome! DP and I did IUIs at the doctor's office, no home insem at all. It took us six tries but we're pg at least for now, and hoping it sticks

Solejean~ UGH!!!!!!! What a horrible week for you! I'm so so sorry about your cat, and sorry about your car too! What's wrong with people!!??! Hope everything is going to get better, and then best of all after your IUI!

Scarlett~ How you doing? I hope you're enjoying your enforced break as much as you can. Try not to stress!

AFM~ Nothing much. Now I'm obsessed with worry because I'm not having any morning sickness. Ridiculous that I'd long to be nauseated, but here I am...

Wehrli - Thanks for the good info. I was thinking maybe that doctor's offices had a one week jump on the normal 2wk drug store pregnancy tests. When you say ICI, do you mean you insem right into the cervix? I just put the syringe/catheter in 9cm blindly, hoping to aim near the cervical entrance.

Solejean - Sorry about your rough week! I have gotten to the point of never locking my car doors. There's just nothing to steal in mine either, and actually I think a potential thief would be off-put by all the half-eaten food and garbage cluttering up the floor of the vehicle! :-)

AFM - I guess I belong in the 2WW crew! I'll be testing on August 23rd. I don't feel super optimistic, but don't want to give myself any negative energy either. Historically, I have been fertile. I have conceived three times, by accident, the old-fashioned way. And then intentionally conceived on my second cycle after lactational amenorrhea subsided. But I don't think it is going to be so easy this time around - and going the DI route with frozen sperm.

My 5 year old and 2 year old are sooo excited about the possibility, though! My 5 year old has taken it upon herself to scout donors (even though I will only be using a sperm bank).

DD1 (speaking about a stranger who helped her wash the car windows at the gas station): "He had blond hair and a blue shirt! Should I ask him if he'll marry you or give you some sperm?"

solejean, i think if AF starts in the evening or late night you start CD1 the next morning. so i think you got your 10 day LP!

KC, yes... by ICI i mean just that. get as close to your cervix as possible with the syringe and plunge... s l o w l y!

library, don't be worried by the lack of m/s... it hasn't hit me yet! well last week i started with mild nausea and i almost thought i would barf this morning but i didn't. i am 6W6D today. they say the 7-8 week is worst for early pg Sx... try and relax. i have a very good feeling about this for you!!! ps. are you lurking in the april DDC? i can't wait to see you there! there is quite the queer group in april's DDC... there's me, 2happymamas, butterflygypsy, and then if gumshoe and you join... that would be 5 of us, so far! plus there should be at least one more BFP yet this month, right?! i'm soo excited!!!

wehrli - that sounds good to me. I think 10 is on the short side, but ok.

KC - you never know - you might get lucky the first try.

Library & wehrli - I wouldn't worry about a lack of nausea. With my DS I only felt slightly sick around certain foods - especially meat. Couldn't think about eating it, but never, not once did I get sick. So it is possible to have a happy, healthy pregnancy and never throw up once.

Wehrli and Solejean~ Thanks for the reassurance. I don't want to just randomly google and read people's horror stories, but I completely trust your experiences. I didn't even know about the April ddc, I'll have to look there and join up. Wouldn't want to miss a minute with you guys!

Is something going on in the stars or something? Why are so many of us having such an awful time?

I'm sorry I don't have the energy for personals much. Thank you everyone for the support and especially thanks to Wehrli and Escher for taking the time to write so much. It does make me feel less alone.

KCmommy Welcome to the list. Do you want me to add you to "waiting to know"? Is there anyone else who needs to be moved?

I think I'm the most miserable I've ever been. I've been through other times that were worse in some ways, but I've never felt so hopeless. We can't reach our new donor. Last time we talked it sounded like he probably won't be able to come up here at all, so we'll have to go there, which will probably be twice as expensive as the last donor. And he doesn't have a car so we can't really ask hm to ship.

I'm having the worst fight I've ever had with my husband (same old stuff, just can't take it anymore, but I still love him and don't really want anyone else so I feel completely stuck). And on top of it all, a tooth I had a root canal on just completely chipped away. The dentist (after telling us he has FIVE kids and he'd be glad to let us borrow one for a few days. And telling us his assistant is pregnant) said that it can't be saved. So I have to get it pulled on Tuesday. And my other teeth are all full of cavaties (he said maybe the insulin resistance could be causing problems?) so we can't really do a bridge. The only option is an implant, which is going to take months to do and probably be insanely expensive, which I'm sure will use up most if not all of our flex account for this year and who knows about next.

Someone HELP....my doc's office just called and said there's a chance I could still be pregnant. I am sooooo confused. The doc yesterday said with a 1.6 p4 test, it's not going to happen.

Now, I am even more nervous because I drank away my sorrows last night in red wine.
2ez, if you are pg having some red wine in the TWW isn't going to ruin your chances! lots of ppl drink during the TWW because they didn't even know they could be pg! don't stress... it already is what it is, you are already pg, or you are not. you already drank the wine and everything will be ok, no matter what the outcome is. I REITTERATE: YOU DIDN'T RUIN YOUR CHANCES!
Haha wehrli, I know it's fine. I am more concerned because I didn't think there was a chance in hell because of the low progesterone. I honestly believe the hardest part of being preggo for me will be the lack of wine I am allowed to have. My body has no concept of "one glass".

Has anyone else ever experienced a BFP with such low p4 tests?
2ez - my progeterone was low when they checked it when I was pregnant with my DS. It wasn't as low as yours (it was 7.5), but low enough that the Dr. started talking to me about the next steps I could take to get pregnant so I think she felt with that low of a number I couldn't be pregnant.
Hi all,

Just stopping by to let you know I'm lurking and rooting for you all, especially since it seems to be rough times this week. to Scarlett and Bunny, and for 2ez!

2happymamas, HOORAY!!!

Library and Wehrli, we can talk about nasea on the other board, but I agree that it's totally normal to have fluctations. Last week I was vimiting every day, this week nothing. Not that I'm not anxious about it, but I know rationally that it's according to plan.

KCMommy and PrettyIsa welcome. This is the best spot for great support when you TTC! I hope you have a quick and easy stay!

That's about as far back as I can remember, so I'll stop. Sending sticky vibes all around!

xo,
Beastie

Quick question for our BFP girlies

Were all of you medicated cycles? U/S Monitoring? Triggers? I always say Im *NOT* going to do the clomid because I never get a + OPK (as was once again evident by this stinking cycle) but then I read the numbers on success rates for unmedicated cycles and they are SO SO low. SO Im thinking of going all out next cycle with Clomid, U/S, and Triggers. (outta be fun with no insurance) Just wanted y'alls opinions.

And a warm welcome to KC Mommy & PrettyIsa

No to all of the above. At home with no interventions on 2nd try. Yes, I realize how lucky we are and am very thankful.

2happymamas- great numbers!

2ezforyou- I hope that you get some answers soon. Do you have any HPTs on hand? Try not to stress.

Welcome KCMommy & PrettyIsa! I hope your stay here is short and sweet!
2happymamas- Glad to hear those numbers are up! Yay

KCMommy- Welcome to the group. I hope you get that Positive this cycle!

Bunny- Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. Maybe find some alone time just to regroup and treat yourself well?

solejean- Sorry about your cat and your car
I would count today as the first day of your cycle if you got AF so late last night. I think that is what my RE told me.

AFM- I went out last night with a gift certificate my friend had bought me for a glass of wine paired with chocolate truffles. DP and I had fun and the wine immediately cured me of my headache I had for 48 hours! Yay!
