They are triplets, but the girls friends have been here so much over the last 5 years that to him they are just like sisters, they argue like they are anyway.

DoK-Good luck on the decluttering. I always feel so accomplished afterward. Hmmm...maybe today's the day to tackle the office I mean the room we throw anything into we don't want to deal with; therefor, one can hardly walk in there.

Princesstutu-I think we're having similar summers (or non-summers on my end). I'm in No Cal on the coast, and we've not seen a lot of sun-currently 52 degrees

I have a 6 1/2 yo and a 4 1/2 yo, and I still can not let go and get used to the idea that a sparkly clean house well, except for the office, but we can close the door, can be completely undone in a day. I know this isn't news to most, but sheesh! It doesn't help that I have a defective domestic gene. So, clean the house, again, or finally tackle the office? This is the quandary this morning.

I want you to be my mommy! The damage I could do with $40.00 for munchies. I've noticed I want to snack on salsa and chips more than sweets lately. I've been a die-hard cake and cookie person for so long, this desire for salsa almost weirds me out.

Good job keeping up! In the past I mostly avoided threads like this because it can get overwhelming, but I am overcoming that now. Hahaha! It's a personal challenge for me. I'm in the Bay Area. East Bay, specifically and it's 57 right now. Supposed to get up to 65 today, but the highs get lower each day for the rest of the week. I like being able to wear the same clothes year-round, but I totally miss the hot sun beaming down on me every day. Not the humidity, but the warm rays, you know? I moved here last year from the midwest.

I suggest you tackle the office, since you can close the door and it will stay clean. That way you have a sense of accomplishment to look upon while you clean the rest of the house later! (Recovering germaphobe, perfectionist, and clean-freak here! )

Hope this post finds all well! I was gonna go to the free day at the Exploratorium but I think I'll go to the library and pick up my holds, instead. Next free day, most kids will be back in school. I'm hoping that means it won't be too chaotic. Plus, I need to do my schoolwork (already read my chapter for one class) and watch New Moon.

last evening we decided to take the boys to the splash park. they were all ready to go and wanted to go outside with dh while he moved the carseat from the van to the car. HE SAID NO! so i said yes, go on out. it wasn't like he was moving a car, they love hanging out in the drive way (it is really long), then as the all go out he says NO YELLING. i just looked at him. they were not yelling to begin with, like just cuz they go out the door they start yelling? i said to him, why can't they yell? well because it could bug the neighbors. REALLY? the neighbors who are all inside their houses with windows shut and doors shut and no one outside at all but us?
i called him on it. he said i didn't say no. i think it is just automatic with him. like breathing or something when it comes to the kids. i pointed out that he said no about them going outside to be with him and that he told them not to do something they were not even doing. he just stared at me and said "no i didn't do that" uh, yes love, you did. so he didn't say no at all at the park to them. lol


i think i might brave the farmers market with the boys this afternoon. i wanna have a look at it.

OH and i love watching "The best thing i ever ate" on the food network. well monday one of the things was right here near tempe az! it was at an olive mill! i had no idea we had an olive mill here. we can get local olive oil and olives! woot! we are going there saturday. so excited. http://queencreekolivemill.com/

OMG this so reminds me of the time I had this huge falling out with my mom. Remember, y'all? A couple years ago in October/November?
My mom and I were taking a walk around her neighborhood, DS was on his bike. It was Monday morning around 9ish. DS was exuberantly singing or shouting or something, and Mom was utterly shushing him, really, really annoyed. Saying he'd wake the neighbors, or annoy them, or something.
Same thing. I was like REALLY? On a Monday morning? After work hours have started? With their doors and windows shut and no one outside at all but us?

I really had it out for her after that. I lit into her when I got home-- took me days to write the email. Grrr.

You are right, it sounds completely automatic, like he doesn't even realize he's doing it. Poor guy. It sounds, though, like he's becoming open to the possibility that he's wrong and he's actually doing this. That's a plus in the right direction for you

I bought two plastic bins that are actually hanging-file boxes, from Office Max. I cleared out the butt-ugly 4-drawer metal filing box and am getting ready to offer it on Freecycle. Yay!

mamaofthree~ yep! we actually almost got together with another pagan momma for a mabon ritual at mt.L several falls ago... i think one of your kiddos got sick and you couldnt come...? anyhow, we moved away awhile after you did, and returned shortly before you did. i thought about pm-ing you about the stress of the return from the land of cool and green to the hot and brown, but you were handling the transition so much better than i was..... let me know how the olive mill is... we've been wanting to make a trip up there, but probably wont go till the fall....

(little bittty "Do It Now" steps... very helpful!), but today, i just needed a "break." we happened to drive right by my fave book store, and i begged dh to stop in for a bit. picked out a new journal (huzzah!) and-- special special treat-- dh ordered me the druid plant oracle. i'm so so so excited! i'm hoping to use it (with the journal, which is very planty) to help me connect to my heart home garden. (so, clay, when you do get time to start a HH thread, i'll be ready and waiting!)

It takes 30 days, here, from the day the caseworker comes over I don't know what they do after 30 days. I oughtta call and find out. I'd love for them to say "Who? We've never heard of you". As if.

I'm reading Plains of Passage. I finally got to the part where...well, I read the first ones over and over and never got this far. Including this book. So I'm pushing past it and yay! It's good. I can't wait to finally read the last one.

just got our first electric bill... BUT i found a great site with estimates on how much each thing uses in your house and i went thru it and it came out right! soooo gonna make some changes RIGHT NOW! hoping to have the bill decreased by at least 1/3 to 1/2 for this month. gonna be hard without the AC on all the time. one thing that was shocking was how much our light bulbs cost us each month. about $75.00 if we change the out to CFB we could decrease our spending to $13.00 a month! and the bulbs don't cost that much, you can get them reasonably at home depot! going there tonight!

Oh man! Two amazing things happened to me today. One good and one racist.

The good thing. I was coming out of walmart and saw a group of people and heard a woman crying. I went over to the group as they started walking away and saw a very pregnant woman with a 1 or 2 year old baby boy. Both covered in bruises and dried blood on her lip. She was crying and begging anyone to help her get to the police because she ran out the house and he'd find them. People just walked away!

I went to her and asked her if she was hungry and she just said, "feed my son." I had a wawa gift card with a little bit of money left that I didn't need and took her and her baby, drove there, got them both food, then took them to the police station. I'm really hoping I saved three lives.

After that, driving home, I was stopped at a light. A man in a big old pick up stopped next to my car, then yelled at me to "take my n-word self and my n-word president, and go back to where I came from." I gave him a dirty look and told him not to make me get out of my car, then drove home.

Strange day huh?!

So it's 11:10 and way past my bedtime...ds has (had) a friend sleeping over, but the other kid freaked out and now I'm up waiting for his parents to come pick him up

He's been over here before, so I'm confused. So are his parents. My ds is distraught. I'm way past cranky tired. And M is going to call me at like 5am like he does every weekday. AND I sent ds to my bed to sleep because he feels so bad.

Argh.

This night already s**ks. Tomorrow, if I don't get any sleep tonight (which isn't likely, given I've already lost some, and ds squirms like a worm on a hook) is already looking like a write-off of a day. Grrrr.
