TTC #1 in our 30s -- August - Page 3

Looks like maybe I have some cycle buddies here, I'm at 7DPO and AF is due soon, I'm having PMS tummy troubles. I'm basing this on OPKs and one that looked sort of positive last Sunday.
Need to start temping and more BD! This will be the beginning of our third cycle.
I'm kind of on an emotional rollercoaster about ttc lately, I'm a teacher and school just started again. Have one pregnant friend and a newly preg. SIL.

Yup Boots - BDing and temping... I'm about to start that too when my thermometer arrives. With the BDing - I'm not in my fertile window however I'm just getting in the habit of doing it every other day. You never know

Annaconda--any sign of AF yet? Did you get a chance to talk to your doctor? Just curious.

Boots--Yay cycle buddies!

Hey Blanca - I am/was worried about luteal phase because I usually have a reliable cycle of 29-32 days, with 31 being the average. Last month was the first month I charted, and wouldn't you know, I had a freak 20 day cycle, in which FF thought I ovulated on Day 13 (based on sporadic temping, no OPK). I'm basically throwing that cycle out though because that's never happened before (such a short cycle). However, the luteal phase on that cycle was only 7 days, so that has me worried.

This month, I know for sure that I ovulated on Day 22 - temps and OPK show that. If my cycle is a regular length this month, then I would be due for my period on Day 31, which is only a 9 day luteal phase. Therefore, I'm hoping I ovulated late this month for some reason and that I have a plenty long enough luteal phase normally. And hopefully I'm pregnant and I don't have to worry But if I'm not pregnant, I'm hoping to get my period at least a few days late, so that I have a long enough luteal phase. I'm 5dpo today.

Blanca, I saw in another thread that your doc and some other posters said don't worry about a 10-day (short) luteal phase. That's interesting! I've been taking a strong B complex this last week anyway, just in case. Maybe it will help.

I'm just assuming there's no problems! But keeping lots of data just in case there is

Good luck to everyone! Do you all think I should test 10dpo, assuming I don't get my period? i'm not having any PMS symptoms, which I usually get a week before, so that's good

Myrtle--See if your temp drops on day 10--if not I might test. I totally hear ya on the lp worries. First off, the month before I started charting I had a cycle that was three days longer than my last maximum, just out of the blue. So it's always possible something like that could be happening this month--you just O'd a bit later than usual. I know it's super hard, but I would say try not to worry until you get a couple more cycles under your belt. From my experience, clear patterns don't really emerge until at least four or five cycles. Of course, with any luck you won't still be charting then because you're pregnant! But I think it's easy to worry over patterns--just one or two cycles of charting might not be representative of what's typical for your body. There are all kinds of reasons why cycles might not be typical. But I did say in the other thread that if I could attribute a longer LP to anything, it would probably be the B6--I'm sure your B-Complex can't hurt!

Edited to add--if there is an issue with your LP, supposedly that is one of the easiest fertility challenges to fix.

Super helpful, Blanca - thanks! Happily, I'm not worried - I'm enjoying the process The scientist in me finds all this fascinating. Although I would welcome a pregnancy!

Hey Ladies,

Checking in from my trip. I'm actually taking a graduate course so it's pretty intensive and fun too. I can be moved from waiting to know to AF.

I could have sworn I was ovulating on CD 18 but my period came a little sooner than I expected. Maybe the OPK test just wasn't dark enough and it was too late. I hadn't been testing daily. My Ovulation Chart

When I get back we have no more trips, no more houseguests. We haven't actually been alone since June 18th so this will be really good and we can get to business.

I'm sorry Bolobear, but happy to hear you will get some QT with your partner soon!!

congrats Amo! how exciting.

i totally agree with others talking about being too tired to bd. i haven't been recording temperatures or using opk's - just CF to guess when i'm ovulating, so this time we bd'd 4 week nights in a row. dh didn't mind at all the first two nights, but the next two we were both really tired. gotta do what you gotta go though (;

i'm nearing the end of my 2WW, not at all sure what will happen in the next day or two. it's easy to think every little feeling must mean i'm pregnant, but truthfully, i think i feel totally the same as usual. except maybe a little more emotional, but that happens from time to time too.

i did take a test yesterday and saw the faintest of lines. nothing to do but wait i guess and hope all our hard work paid off

Uh...the faintest of lines? Unless it has no pink to it, a line is a line!
Can you post a pic? Test again tomorrow!

CD40 and I FINALLY got a positive OPK this afternoon on the LAST ONE of the 25-pack I started this cycle with! I have decent EWCM too. Wish me luck And wish DH luck too, he's been climbing cell towers all day and now he's going to have to come home and put out, lol. I wonder if I can slip a 5-Hour Energy into his mashed potatoes.

WTHamI - I hope last night was successful!!!

Hi all!
So, speaking of the faintest of lines...I think I maybe got something on an internet cheapie this morning at 9 DPO? It's ohhhhh so faint, but there's *something* there. I guess time will tell if it's an evap, but I think I can see pink. And, I lined it up next to one I took a couple days ago just for kicks, and there's definitely nothing at all there on that one, but I can see the pinkish shadow on today's.

I'm not calling anything until I have something more definitive--this is a definite maybe, and I don't think it would even show up in a photo. But I'm feeling pretty hopeful...

So here we are at 8 DPO and, unlike last month at this time, I've got NO symptoms of anything! I mean, I have the occasional twinge in my breasts..and I have this weird thing where I wake up every morning and sneeze my face off and then cough throughout the day if I don't have a glass of water right next to me...but I was already cramping and feeling bloated and gross by this time, last month. And I got a BFN. I know it's totally irrational, but I'm going to take the no-symptoms as a good sign and keep my fingers crossed. Should I test on Sunday at 11 DPO? I really want to say I could hold out until 14 DPO, but that might be a little too ambitious.
Fingers crossed for both of you!! 11dpo is when I got my dark BFP, so I say go for it.

for you guys!

I'm on CD 7, expecting a delayed O later in the month. I really hate stress.

Good luck, ladies!
Oh, Blanca! I am so hoping you see a darker line very soon!!!!

I'm either at 6 or 9 dpo. I'd love to be pondering the ultimate significance of every .01 of my temps, but...I went on vacation without my thermometer. Oops.
It's probably better this way--it could definitely lead to awkward questions if I left it lying about at my in-laws, but I can't properly obsess without it. I felt some hard pinch-y sensations yesterday that have me wondering...and hoping. On the other hand, I had crazy nipple soreness for the last two days that had me wondering...which completely disappeared this morning. Who knows?
(I admit it, I did pack one test. Just In Case. But I won't use it unless I really, really expect it to turn pink.)

and for everyone!

And congrats to amo4piano!

Yikes. Oy. Eee. Oink? !?!!!!? (biting nails)
I'm speechless, just about--I took another test and it's darker than the one from this morning!!!...so I'm thinking it's probably not an evap....
Still not calling anything but I think it's either a very dark evap or a BFP! Oh how I wish I had a functioning camera so I could post a pic!

OMG Blanca, that sounds really promising!! You've been such a wealth of info in my short time here, so I'm really hoping you get your wish

Good luck, and keep us apprised!!
