Is anyone else getting nervous for winter? I'm starting to struggle with meal options for winter as I was canning some fruit this weekend. My family's menu is usually packed with soups, stews, hot cereals, chilis (with extra speghetti to make it stretch) and more roasted root veggies vs. fresh since its not local in frigid WI
Actually I am looking forward to fall. Last year at this time I was just starting to go back to low carb, TF style, and hadn't found primal yet. It just didn't give me enough time before fall for me to really ingrain (pun intended) it as a way of life yet. I did ok until november and then the winter was all off.
I restarted low carb in April, and found Primal at the end of April. I feel like this is totally my lifestyle now and am looking forward to a different season with it. Summer was all about grilled meats, salads, and veggie packets on the grill.
For the Fall I have plans for long slow cooking (which I can't do right now because it overheats my kitchen. With temps at 105 daily here in tx, I want to keep the kitchen cool!) stews, roasts, lots of roasted vegetables.
I plan on occasionally have garbanzo beans and lentils this fall, as tastes dictate. I plan to assuage my baking needs with coconut quick breads/muffins/cakes with the addition of pumpkin, zucchini and carrot/raising type stuff. Pizza night may become weekly again. <3

I figure it's a better craving than fast food!
Heck yeah it is! I am in awe of the preggos keeping even remotely primal/grain free. You have my utmost respect!
I have some tasty looking mini pound cakes in the oven (coconut flour) from the Healthy Indulgence blog. For my kids when the get back from their first day of school!
B-Coffee. Cream. x 5 bazillionty.
2 fried eggs, 1/2 avocado
L-sort of. Licked the spatula of the coconut batter x 3 bazillionty. Slightly too much for the pans. am now relatively full. May eat a tin of sardines and some egg drop soup if I get hungry before the kids get home
S- Afternoon snack will be the pound cake with a bunch of butter. Raspberries, and a pot of mint/rrl/nettle tea with the kids
D- If I ever freaking get off my arse, will be meatballs in gravy, mashed potatoes, and salad (ala Kerry Ann!)
ooh- and I made bento for the kids today. I totally added rice to theirs but they have been grain free whenever they do the main meals with me so I am ok with the rice occasionally. And it's really cute.
