So the good news is DD has started sometimes sleeping longer stretches since she turned one. We've been able to sometimes put her down drowsy and have her fall asleep on her own at bedtime. (She starts out in her crib, then we bring her in with us at the first waking.) She has even been heard (rarely) to wake and then quickly resettle herself without help! Lately she's been waking only one to three times a night, which is great!
The bad news is that once or twice a night when she wakes she has one heck of a time getting back to sleep. She is clearly tired and frustrated that she can't sleep, but nothing we do seem to help her. She can take over an hour of us doing all we can (nursing, bouncing, shushing) before finally falling asleep. She may be working on some teeth- she's had teeth/sleeping issues in the past, but this isn't how it usually presents. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Is it somehow related to her new, (otherwise) improved sleep habits or is it a coincidence?
Thanks,
Sarah
