Hi Everyone, I don't know if you will remember me at all but my baby was due Jan 31st and I am a first time mom so I put myself in the Feb DDC and lurked on your board :) our Feb thread has all but died and it makes me sad. I love reading about other babies that are doing the things that my little Malachi is doing and I desperately need the advice of other moms in the same place that I am in. I am getting super emotional about his upcoming birthday (Jan 18th) and how has it been one year already? I moved from NC to NY in October and have had a hard time getting out to make friends. So, I guess I am asking if I can join you? Please please please?
Oh, and congratulations to all of the one year birthday babies and to the mamas with the new BFPs! My sister and I are 16 months apart and it is awesome. I think it can be hard on the mama sometimes but it is such a beautiful gift to give your children. Hope to be able to graft myself into this group and sorry if it seems a little stalkerish since I know you all so well but you don't know me.
Maybe to lessen the weirdness...
My name is Melinie, my DS's name is Malachi. He was born at home after my water broke, 3 hrs of contractions, 5 hours of pushing. He had his chord wrapped around his neck and body but was totally fine when he came out, my tailbone not so much :) He is amazing. DH is a great father. We cosleep, breastfeed, and semi cloth diaper (moving has made that hard). I love being a mom and it is also the hardest thing ever in the world. I stay at home, dad works outside of the home. I am an introvert and I miss my friends back home. I have three sisters and one brother and I love having a big family. I knit and crochet and hope to add sewing to that list once life settles down. I have my master's in nutrition, just finished in december right before DS's birth. My concentration is in lactation and I am going to eventually become an LC. Ok, I guess that is enough randomness for right now :)
I am having a hard time coming up with a unique way to celebrate Malachi's birthday. I want to be creative, sentimental, and fun. A few family members will be able to come up to celebrate so we will have a small party. What are you doing and are you going to do a cupcake, cake, or something else?
