I'm transitioning well to going back to a full time at home mom...miss my paycheck though. Money is really tight and we are still in debt from Liam's surgical birth. We are thinking about #4, but want to pay off all the debt first and that will let me heal a bit more.

Overall, everything is good!
I enjoyed checking out your blog. Liam is very cute, as are your other children. :-)

Malachi is cutting his 3rd tooth, this one on the top. He mimics us all the time now. He tries to growl like my husband. It's so cute! Also,we've begun teaching him sign language. He's learning to sign "more" and then we'll work on other signs, such as please and thank you. :-)

is there a new thread and i'm missing it? or are we all just too busy to post?

as for us.... we have a couch walker ... at just under 9 months
post #83 of 238
I don't think a new thread has started. Hmmm...we must all be very busy!

Malachi is cutting his 5th tooth. He has 2 on bottom and the 3rd one coming in on top. He was born with a cleft lip (repaired at 2 1/2 months) and a cleft alveolar which is a whole or gap in the gum that will need bone grafting surgery when he's between 8-10 years old. We don't know yet if he will get teeth on upper left side of his mouth before he has surgery. He does have his 2 front teeth. He's such a joy and so very smart. He loves to pull up on things and gets around really well. My DH has also taught him to scoot off the bed feet first lying on his belly and holding onto the bed the whole time. It's so funny to see him do this! And it beats him diving for the floor head first.

I hope everyone else's babes are doing great!

ETA: One of the reasons I've been very busy is because Malachi's older sister will be moving in with us full time in just over 2 weeks, and I've been preparing our home for her arrival. It's wonderful that he'll have a full time sibling as part of his day to day life. He loves his sisters so much.

glad i'm just not missing updates

oh, i am so with you on the trying to dive head first off the bed, the couch, from our arms....

and, we're currently dealing with hard little bites on our shoulders. so far we're using the same "training" we would with a puppy - saying no, and redirecting and giving him an appropriate thing to chew on. but it's not sinking in yet. i'll be damned if the little guy doesn't try to grab my face with both hands and try to hold me still to bite my chin!

My son tortures both my DH and me in different ways. I get the little bites and my hair pulled. My DH gets his beard pulled and his (ouch) nipples pinched! Very weird! My little guy just turned 9 months on the 30th. It sounds like you have a dare devil, too!

OH MY GOD!

you have no idea how loud i am laughing right now. our son torments my husband's nipples too! if we're all lying in bed and the blanket falls off my DH's chest DS wants to pet them or pinch them, but somehow play with them. drives my DH crazy

our guy will be nine months this saturday .... we have knicknamed him monkey because he will.not.stay.still.ever. and he's constantly pulling himself up on things and trying to figure out a way to climb onto / over something. i think daredevil is the right word!

WOW, I think my husband thought he was the only dad that happened to! It's funny, I nurse DS and he never pinches my nipples. He will just reach very quickly, grab my husband's nipple and pinch hard. My husband will even have a shirt on often times and my son doesn't even have to look. He just knows exactly where to grab and pinch.

I was thinking about this thread the other day and thinking it's almost time to start a ddc babies turn 1 thread! Eek!

Skylar is just over 10 months now and seems so grown up! She's about 23lbs and quite tall. Cruising around furniture for awhile now and the last month or so love to push things and walk behind them. Until they start going too fast and she falls on her belly We've had some real nighttime sleep challenges in terms of me not getting enough uninterrupted sleep. She wakes SO often some nights - falls back asleep easily after nursing but it's hard on me. I'm considering night weaning in the new year (at around 13 months)...but I'll see how we go. I also don't have af yet and we would like to start on #2 next spring so night weaning may help get my fertility started again....we'll see. Are there others who don't have af back yet?

Here are some photos of Skylar in her Halloween costume. We didn't go trick or treating but had fun visiting friends

Cute! Love the Halloween pics!

Hi, all.  It's so nice to catch up with you again!

Griffin is doing well.  Crawling, pulling up, eating anything within reach (including the dog hair/dust bunnies - blech!).  My daughter is still over the moon with him and he with her.  It's so lovely to hear them in the backseat while I drive - talking and laughing.  LOVE them!

What's everybody giving the newbies for holiday gifts?

my mom is getting Andrew the toy that has the five objects that pop up when you press buttons - can't think of what it's called.  but each of the five have a different thing to do to get the character to pop up - one is pushing a button, one is turning a key, one is sliding the button side to side.  i'll see if i can find a photo on amazon.

and, my DH put his mom on notice that we can not have her giving us big gifts - we simply don't have the room for toy kitchens or whatever.  hopefully she'll actually keep it in mind when she shops.

Everyone's been so quiet lately!  I've looked for this thread on occasion, but didn't realize it had been revived a few weeks ago.

We are doing well.  Ethan is 10.5 months now.  He hasn't gotten any new teeth in months, has stopped at 7.  He has been taking steps between things for a few weeks now.  Just in the past week or so, he will take 5+ steps on his own.  New walkers always remind me of zombies - I just have to get Ethan to say "braiinnss", ha.  We've just gotten over a bad sleep month.  He was only sleeping on the couch or in my bed, and refused to be put down anywhere else.  Naps were lasting only half an hour or so, and lots of wake-ups at night.  Things have gotten better these past few weeks, although he still likes to wake up frequently at night sometimes.  Oh well.  We co-sleep most of the night, so I get a decent amount of sleep.  No af here, which suits me fine!

We already got Ethan most of his xmas stuff.  Pretty typical baby stuff - fisher price activity table, fp play phone, foam chair.  Nothing terribly exciting.

It's nice to reconnect with everyone!

Skylar's Halloween pics are too cute. I love that costume! Too cute.

Eden is following her brother's footsteps and being strong in language and on the slower side of normal for gross motor stuff. She's just starting to crawl, and it's a funny crawl, at that. smile.gif

Eden starts crawling

She's doing lots of signing and talking. She babbles in whole stories. She's just so happy almost all the time. Very fun kiddo.

Here's an updated picture of all of us.

Oh, since someone asked about holiday gifts, Eden is getting a svan youth chair (we did a Montessori weaning table instead of a high chair, and she doesn't have one) and a puzzle with 3 shapes, and a hat knit by mommy. She's # 2 and really doesn't need anything anyway.

For birthday (since those are all coming up soon!!! Where has the time gone?), she's getting this ball drop thing and a book (and probably some more handknit woolies, whatever I make by then).

Emily's top teth ar finally coming through, but not the two front ones, her two eye teeth! She looks like a baby vampire.  It's so weird.

I'm sooo tired! Liam doesn't sleep more than 3 hours at a time at night. Brian (my almost 4 year old) still gets up at least once...I feel like I am running on empty.

Liam walks...another giant leap for mankind! He started really walking right after he turned 9 months. Craziness.

I have pictures, but I just don't have the engery to post them.

From my husband's standpoint, I think we are done with having anymore babies...it makes me so sad and so happy at the same time. Very conflicted. I love getting rid of all the huge baby equipment, but can't believe I'll never have another snuggly baby again nor be pregnant nor have a chance to give birth. I feel kinda sad since I had PPD for several months. I missed alot by just getting through the days instead of living & being present through the days.

Hard to belive he is 9.5 months already.

Glad to see this thread come to life again. Love hearing updates! Sasha is almost 11 months (yikes!!!), last month he finally started 4 point crawling and sprouted 2 teeth. We're doing ok, although currently overwhelmed with work. I definitely don't get enough uninterruped sleep (we reverse cycle) but I'm holding up ok. Sasha is mostly free range around the house, and is very interested in going up the stairs, but hasn't quite figured out the down part. His favorite toys currently are balls, he loves to throw and is getting pretty good. I love playing "baby catch" with a big ball with him.

Rebekah, please post pictures of the baby vampire, that sounds adorable!
Catubodua, hopefully that was just Andrew trying out the toothers. Sasha got bit on the bunz early on (yay for cloth dipes, he didn't even notice) but the baby boy who bit him did not do that again, so it doesn't mean he'll bite. Sending you "no biting" vibes.

Apparently I kill threads. :( Where are all the january mamas? Is anyone thinking about another baby yet?
I admit I miss my little squishy newborn and look forward to TTC again (we'd like to get a BFP when Sasha is 18 months to 2 years)
