I will be traveling overseas with a newborn and the rest of my children in October. Trying to prepare now. What are some things I will need to make it easier?

We moved overseas when DD was 7 wks old. We moved then because we wanted her to have her first set of vaccinations prior to our move.
Our experience was moving somewhere VERY hot with a monsoon. This influenced our decision as to the type of cloth diapers she would wear.
The floors were all tile, so we brought along a hard sponge mat for her to spend time on.
Most important was trying to find a group of expats to meet with. Also, I would determine the closest (and best) local hospital and doctor....also determine your best medical emergency exit.
hope that helps!

We traveled overseas when DS was 11 weeks old. It was a cinch. All he needed was clothes, a sun hat, diapers, and something for me to wear him in. We have a trip planned for December when the new baby will be about that age and I'm not planning on bringing him anything other than the above.

I've gone back and fourth from the US to EU quiet a few times now, my DS is 7 months and I think he has more passport stamps then my parents do
I found its good idea to bring a change of clothes for him and I. Snacks/pacifier. A few small toys and a few magazines (he digs the faces). I am lucky in that my DS almost always sleeps the whole flight so I rarely need extras.
Generally international airlines/airports are surprisingly kid friendly and even more true with babies.
