?s about nursing behavior

Is this normal breast-feeding behavior? While nursing particularly when he's tired and throughout the night when he dream feeds, DS incessantly pulls his hair (frequently out) and/or pinches, grabs, or slaps my breast and arms. And, he has to these things otherwise he gets upset and will really wake up. Nursing necklaces or other items have not proven helpful since he does it primarily in a sleepy stupor. Any advice? Is this normal?

Little background to add: DS suffered vax injury at 7 months and developed sensory issues at that time. I couldn't hold him for nursing; he had to be on a pillow or we laid down. He also stopped direct eye contact. He's since recovered but will regress during illness or diet changes. So, I'm trig to figure out if this is normal toddler behavior or something else possibly lingering from his vax injury.

Ds does the pinching, grabbing & sometimes slapping at my breasts & has for over a year now. It seems to be something really ingrained too 'cause he'll be 95% asleep & still trying to pinch me. I have had some luck with holding his hand still or putting his hand to his own ear.
