Yay August!!! I love a new month - so full of possibility!!

So ladies, talk to me about Weight Watchers... honestly, I have no idea what it is about but I looked at the website and it seems rather expensive. I get that there is a point system - is there something else to it? Is there some kind of formula to figuring out points?

I never really thought about doing something like WW, but I just plain old need to be accountable for what I am putting in my mouth. Like today - 2 SUPER cranky kids and 90 degree heat = trip to Dairy Queen! Mama needed it just as much as the littles. But boy, do I feel crappy now...

7 miles tomorrow AM!! I'll be damned if I am going to let any of that hot fudge settle in my middle!

Welcome tracymom1! GL achieving your goals!

Super late here. Not sure why I can't sleep! Anyway, subbing...

I do weight watchers all by myself at home since it is expensive. I've been consistently losing about 10lbs a month since April, this past month I only lost around 8, but still that is pretty good I think. I track my food points using this calculator and I figured out how many points I got per day using this formula. I use this website to track calories, and the "food diary" feature to keep track of my points. WW has a community message board, which is free to join, if you want to talk to others about the program. But mostly I use this to keep me accountable. Sorry, I couldn't resist. .

AFM, I weighed in at 155.0 this morning!! I couldn't believe it! Of course, I won't change my stats till it stays there for 3 days, but I had to share it with you all! I'm getting so close!

Hello August Mamas! Holy cow, the time flies. My LO has her 4 month checkup tomorrow...how can that be, seeing as how she was just born the other day? It still surprises me to see that chubby baby face, and not the newborn face.

Onto weight loss: I've weighed in at 115.5 for 2 mornings in a row now! I'm not confident enough to post an official weight yet, but I'm super happy to see it actually moving downwards. My husband says he can see the difference now, and I'm seeing it a bit too. When I get to 110, then I will try my pre-preg fat pants again. I can get into them, but it involves some effort and they're hardly flattering

Thanks Amanda, for keeping us all organized and keeping track of our stats. I know I wouldn't be able to do that right now!
AnnieMac, congrats! I would totally claim it!

Ladies, I threw my back out at the gym today I was in the middle of a class, too. It was sooo embarassing! I had to pick all my stuff up (barely) and leave right in the middle. And I am in pain, DH had to go to work today (he was supposed to be off), and now I probably won't be able to work out all week, maybe longer . Today is just not my day!

day two of me weighing in at 155.0.

well, actually i weighed in at 155.4, and then realized that ds was still sleeping and i was feeling rather ahem.. full.

so i pumped 6 ounces, and got back on the scale and it said 155.0 haha. I'm not sure exactly how much .4lbs is, but it has to be somewhere around 5-6 ounces, so pretty accurate. So funny.

Hello August!

This is going to be a good month for me I just know it. It is my last full month before i go back to work and I need to fit into some work clothes
post #9 of 106
Okay! Put me down for 146.6 !!!
This is the lowest weight I've seen in two years. I couldn't believe it. Great motivation to work hard this month and get to my goal!!!

Lately I've been thinking another goal of mine should be to look half decent in a pair of the new fitted/skinny style jeans that are hip right now. I realized that my flaired pants are probably the new 'mom jeans'.. lol.
Yay Amanda and Mandica!!!

My scale has not budged - not even a tiny bit!!! I am totally stuck right here at 130 just like I have been for the past 3 weeks. I need to seriously re-think my weight loss plan. I guess I have hit my plateau and need to step things up. I am not going to cut more calories because of the breastfeeding, but I think I will try to change up my exercise routine. Its hard because I have a hairline fracture in my left wrist and I can't lift any weight or do push-ups and won't be able to for another couple of months. Boo!!!

Nola79, are you feeling any better? Do you see a chiro?

Oh no! Being injured really puts a dent on the workout routine.

I'm feeling ok, I think I pulled a muscle, which is better than what I had thought. No, I haven't been to a chiropractor. I'm actually scared of them...DH goes and the guy jumps on his back No, thank you! (Although he swears by a chiro, as do other irl friends of mine)

great job Mandica, I can't wait to be where you're at!

AFM: 155.9 yesterday, 155.4 today. Trying not to get frustrated and focus on the trend. On July 4th I was 162.5, so that is a 7lb loss this month. 2 weeks ago I was 158.5, so that is 3lbs in 2 weeks. Im trying not to get frustrated with the day to day, but I guess that is what I get for weighing every day. I did 20 mins on the stairmaster yesterday, and am feeling it today! Here's hoping I see 154 tomorrow!

Ugh, I know I just joined, but you probably won't be seeing me for a while. I am pretty sure that I have pelvic organ prolapse This is so far a self diagnoses, as I don't go for my postpartum checkup for another 2 weeks, but from what I have read, the best thing for me during this time is bed rest to give my body a chance to heal itself (and prevent gravity from interfering). I'm not supposed to lift anything over 20-25 lbs, yoga and pilates are supposedly risky because of some of the positions, ARGH! I was so psyched that I actually had the inner motivation to get back into shape so quickly this time around (it took months before I wanted to do anything last time) but apparently I should have waited as I may have actually caused this by trying to bounce back too quickly.

Soo frustrated right now! Bed rest? With a 2 yo and a newborn? Yeah right. Good luck there! Not lifting anything over 20ish lbs? When my 2 yo is 35 lbs? I'll be able to avoid it sometimes, but not always. My only option at the moment is to diet, but I can only do that to a certain extent because of nursing.

The only good news is that my body is still doing its own thing regarding weight loss and I've dropped another 2 lbs making me 153 which is encouraging, but in the back of my mind I know that eventually it will be done burning up and sweating out some of the pregnancy stores and if I'm not doing anything by then I will plateau. Hopefully I hear good news in a few weeks at my checkup.

SpuglyRoo! That totally sucks. After DS was born I broke my foot and had a 4 month old, no help at home, had to walk on crutches and 40# of extra weight. It was not fun, but at least I lived to tell about it

129 this morning. I am starting to get a little crabby about this weight thing. I was so zen about it for a while, but now - with jeans weather soon approaching- I think my fears will be realized and I will not be able to fit into any of my pants. Last winter I survived with yoga and sweat pants and the occasional drawstring skirt but I would really like to wear a pair of jeans again (and not have a total, uncomfortable muffin top).

Sigh... I think I am just having a bad day...

Ugh Spugly- Im sorry! That does not sound like a good situation at all! I hope you will stick around here anyway, and that you do hear good news at the checkup!

s, we've all been there. (I am currently there at the moment actually haha). Just try to remember slow and steady wins the race. You are doing great. Do you want me to update your stats?

oops, forgot about me. I weighed in at 154.5 today, so for another pound gone! I like to give myself a pound wiggle room in the first post, so now I feel comfortable with posting 156lbs haha. I have been working out with a friend the past few nights and it has really kept me motivated. I actually did 20 whole minutes on the stairmaster level 5 without even thinking about it. Of course I was drenched in sweat and it burned to breathe by the time I got off, but I still managed to do my weights and 20 mins on the elliptical. Which is a good thing, since I have been averaging about 1800-2000 calories a day this week. (up from my usual 1500), and in Weight Watchers speak, I have been using up my weeklies in addition to my dailies, for the first time. I wonder if DS is going through a growth spurt? He is nursing the same amount, but he just turned 5 months old. I am trying to remember if my girls went through the same thing, if I was hungrier when they were growing more.. hmm..

oh and DH has lost 10lbs in a month by doing practically nothing! grrr men. LOL.
I'll BBL to catch up ladies. Leaving for work in 30. IDK WTH is going on with my stats. I've weighed myself about 3 times since I first got my scale and the damn thing is holding steady @ 195??? I guess I lost inches before I hurt my knee (which would account for the clothes fitting better I guess) and didn't have enough hydration or maybe BF had something to do with the 189???

My knee is still messed up and I' feeling very frustrated. Ugh. Trying to figure out how to lose w/o cardio? I've done it before but I don't have the time to put into the type of routine that this would require. Blah...
Spuglyroo, oh that sounds awful! I hope everything goes alright for you, and I second Amanda, feel free to hang around regardless!

Mamacats, what's wrong with your knee? You probably said before, but I'm pleading Baby Brain How about swimming, if you can get out of the house to do so? I am also having knee pain from walking so much. I have totally flat feet, and my knees feel it. Orthotics would probably solve it, but do I get any? No.

there is a giant triple chocolate chip cookie in my pantry calling my name. MUST RESIST URGE.

its 270 cals and 15g of fat for the ONE cookie. But it is SO good.

I bought "no pudge fudge brownie" mix the other day. Makes single servings, just add fat free yogurt and microwave for 1 min. I guess I will go have that instead. Boo. I want the good stuff.
(But I might add a tablespoon of PB to it, so there!)
Mamacats - how about just lots of punching and upper body/abdominal strength training? Push-ups, crunches etc... I sprained my ankle a couple of months ago and I am a runner so it just about killed me, but I kept up with the upper body to burn some extra calories.

Cookies!!! Damn, I want some too! But when I weighed myself today it said 126!!! I realize that was probably a fluke, but I am going to use that as motivation for my 8 mile run tomorrow!

That's fantastic mandica! I want to look good in my jeans too lol. This whole muffin top thing is not what's up.

I fell in the shower almost two weeks ago and twisted/jammed/sprained it? I don't even know. It hurts like a SOB though and I can't bend it all the way. I have to stand up for work and that's not cool. I seriously think I might need a cane b/c my other foot/leg is feeling all the extra weight getting put on that side.

No way! As mentioned above, claim that 126! And good idea about punching, thanks! Hadn't really given it much thought I guess since I really miss running. I'll try push-ups again too, see if the weight is too much for the knee.

This really set me back mentally but now I think I'm prepared to just do what I can again and just take it as it comes. Sooo...

Amanda, can you change my starting weight to 195. That means I have 55lbs to lose to get to 140. Gah! But you ladies are really helping to motivate me! Maybe I'll wallow in self-pity one more night though lol.
