no, no, no.. just use this one. free!

AFM 153.8 this morning, but its been a few days since i have ahem.. used the bathroom, so i am sure once that happens i will be down a little bit.

unfortunately, that was my last weigh in for 11 days. We will be back on the 23rd, and I am slightly afraid.. okay, dreading- the damage that i know is inevitably going to occur on my trip. I told DH to make sure I stick with my plan while gone, because I would much rather see a good number when I get back and regret not splurging a little, than see a bad number and wish I hadn't splurged.

I may check in on my phone- i dont know yet. but have a good week and a half, i'll be back!

Amanda, have a great time! Good luck on sticking with your diet, I know how hard it is, especially when on vaca, but I know you can do it! (and I don't think the occasional splurge will hurt you)

Thanks Amanda. I think I'm just being, as my son would say, "the blah-blah" since I have so much going on. I'm trying to make sure I understand the whole points thing and was just overthinking it .

Used my google-fu and also found this link for exercise as well as food:

http://meganandjack.com/points_calculator.htm

Ahh obsessive compulsion lol. Get off the 'puter and go have fun! GL on keeping from overindulging. I know there are times if I start then that's all she wrote . Can't wait to hear about your fun!

Have fun Amanda! don't worry about the occasional splurge.

Mamacats I don't use WW but I know lots of people who have used the calcualtor Amanda posted with great success.

AFM, it's too early to call the new number but the scale is on the move down again.

Love these guys, wish I could put them on my fridge.

Ladies, I just have to say that a good stomach flu can do wonders for the numbers on the scale I have been barfing like crazy for the last 2 days and FINALLY am able to hold a little bit of food down. No, I am not pregnant! It is definitely a virus. So no working out, but no eating either. I feel like a train ran over me

Amanda - I just have to say how sorry I am about that incident at the doctor's office. What a total douche bag. Lots of *hugs* to you for that one. And have an awesome time in Cali. Vacation is a hard time for a diet but just remember to maintain a little balance and you will be fine!!

Nola79, I saw your picture on the thread in TAO and you are one hot mama!!

I don't think I can really do this whole weight watchers/points thing. I just don't have the dedication that is needed to do it correctly. It seems kind of complicated and with 2 kids under the age of 3 I just don't have the brain power needed to keep up with it.

We are having a crazy heat wave here - almost 100 degrees and 90% humidity! I think I am going to sit in the kiddie pool while they are napping!

Hi
I just wanted to post and asked to be added to the list. I am currently 124lbs and would like to be 115. I have lost a total of 31 lbs so far and am doing weight watchers and exercising. Seems like something always comes up in my day and my exercise gets pushed aside. However I am bound to get in at LEAST 5 days a week and varying my workouts from running, walking, lifting weights, bikram yoga and hiking or swimming while its still nice out. My daughter is 20mos so I feel like it is about time that I get my rear in gear and get where I want to be. This is the body I have to live with the rest of my life and I had better love it!

Alright ladies! I think I've got the whole points thing down. I'm going to start weighing myself weekly (every Saturday at 8AM). I will continue juicing tons, having fresh veggies, etc., but now I'm going to start measuring. I'm also going to start keeping a journal which will include weight loss stuff like what I ate, exercise, etc. I think I have issues with emotional eating and will confront that. I will also work meditation into the mix.

I don't plan on doing the points system forever but it looks like a good tool for me to use to get this weight off! I haven't been 140 in at least 5 years and I just feel like there's so much in my life that needs to move forward. Getting my mind, body, and spirit into the best state I can is key.

Blessings all!

Mamacats, I would love to do this, too, but I always start strong and then fade out after a few days. I think a food journal would be a great way to be aware of everything going into your body but I just can't seem to make it a priority.

Weight loss should be simple! Calories in v/s calories out, right??!! Why is it sooooooo haaaaarrrrdddd????!!! Blech.

mamacats- we're starting from essentially the same place with he same ulimate goal. I put my goal at 175 because I like the baby steps but I would like to see 140 too!

Oh I know, right! I believe meditation and focusing on various goals I've set for myself will help me with what you mention here (start out strong then losing focus). Like being in school. I'm steadily chipping away and in the end I'm praying for my Ph.D. But I'm not stopping there. There's so much more to do! Everything in my life is so connected to everything else. Losing this weight is no different. My children are growing, everything is in constant motion. Right now I'm seeing this challenge as I can either try to discipline myself to accomplish this task, or not. Either way, time will move forward. I have to take the moments as they come. I think journaling will help with the moments as well. We'll see. I've never been good at journaling. Now seems like the time though. Sorry! Sometimes my thoughts go all tangenty .

Excellent! We can do this! What's your plan of attack looking like?

Well, tomorrow is the big "Aaaaand she's off!". Serenity now!

Welcome Lovemore! I am also taking the exercise approach. I try and get out every day for something. Well, for a walk because, let's face it, my LO (4 months) doesn't have the patience or the long naps for anything else.

I had several days of feeling like I didn't want to do anything. A little bit sick feeling, very tired and weepy, oh my god, weepy. I even took an ept at the urging of my husband who has come to associate nausea and weepiness in me as signs of pregnancy. I knew I wasn't. I wasn't. BUT I did get my period back yesterday. Mystery solved. I know, I know, probably TMI, but I feel like it's very linked to my weight loss (and lack thereof). It feels like another step towards regaining my prepregnancy body. Like some real, solid evidence that my body is recovering from a hard pregnancy and emergency c-section. It's nice to know that my body feels strong enough now to get pregnant again.

So now to charge ahead with those weight loss goals!

My plan is just to eat sensibly, lots of veggies and get some exercise and lose it slow and steady. I grew up in a house where my mom was always dieting, never happy with her weight and always heavy. I will not do that to my daughter...now 3 months. I want both my kids, DS and DD to just like healthy foods, enjoy playing outside getting some exercise and not worry about it. I do most of the cooking and shopping for the house so I feel like this is in my hands. KWIM?

I need some breakfast (and other) help. I have cut out white bread (never thought I could, but I have!) and replaced it with sprouted grain. That was good for a while. I could have it for breakfast (I really love toast for breakfast) and it would keep me going for a bit. I was losing at my extremely tortoise pace, but I was losing. But now...2 slices of SG toast are just not enough. Yesterday I ate 4 for breakfast, plus another 2 for a snack, in addition to a SG tortilla. I'm stagnating on the weight loss. It's halfway through the month, and I haven't lost even a pound. Eggs would probably be a good thing, but I can't garner up any enthusiasm for them. Plus, for the first time in a long time, I really need to work on portion control. I was always pretty good about just eating when I was hungry, but now I've gotten into the habit of eating because I have the chance. How do you mamas balance that? If I don't eat when I have the chance, I might not get to eat when I'm hungry, but by doing that I'm messing with my body's signals. And it starts at breakfast. I eat as soon as I wake, even though I'm not really hungry, because the LO is happy to play on her blanket for a while. Later she will become more needy.

Do you like the Morningstar Farms veggie sausage patties? We get them at Costco and I can just pop one or two in the microwave when I get hungry in the morning. Usually I eat GoLean crunch cereal with some yogurt instead of milk. Both those things have protein so I don't overeat later. Other than that I try to have lots of easy to make things around so I can grab something quick before I sit down to nurse or play with DD. Chopped up veggies and lunchmeat I can throw on a sandwich. Hummus for dipping the veggies. That sort of thing. If i am hungry but can't get around to eating when I do get the chance I tend to overeat so this is a real danger zone for me too.

Oh yeah, yogurt! I'd completely forgotten about it. Good suggestion. Also good suggestion about the hummus. I'm going to start cooking garbanzos & get that going. I just bought a food processor at Costco, so I'll even get to use it

Eggs really are wonderful - a perfect way to start your day with burst of protein. I hard boil 6 at a time and just grab one in the morning when I get up. I usually have some cereal a little later after working out.

I have a REALLY hard time eating with the 2 little ones. The only thing that helps me stay on track is to make sure I have some prepared foods in the fridge that do not require a lot of prep time. I then eat when they eat or I sit on the floor with them and eat and play. I usually make salads, fish fillets or tuna salad, cubed veggies, fruit and cheese and then I make sure I have some almonds or other protein easily accessible. Not eating off their plates is my biggest challenge, for sure.

I'm feeling a bit better now. My 117 has budged! Two days now, I've been 115.5! Woohoo!

Aww, you're so sweet. You pic was beautiful! Your dd is precious!
I also do the hard boiled egg thing. I keep a bowl in the fridge and grab one in the morning.....also, the baby likes the egg yolk so it's some of her breakfast as well.

AnnieMac, I like oatmeal in the morning. You can also add fruit or sliced almonds for a little extra nutrients and flavor. It's quick and easy, anyway, if you don't care for eggs too much.

As for me, I am holding steady at 137/138 depending on the day.
Guess I'm at a plateau. Or maybe it's unrealistic to think I'll lose any more. Idk, I suppose I'm happy where I'm at, if I could just get rid of this cellulite on the back of my legs!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and it's bad, I actually do have pics, but I'm not brave enought to post them!)

Congrats on the loss! I wonder if it's had anything to do with AF returning?

I think it does, but that could just be because I associate water loss with the onset of my period on a monthly basis. I've actually heard more than a few women say that when it returned, that's when they really had to start watching their diet, because breastfeeding wasn't keeping the weight at bay any longer. I'm still nursing just as much as ever though. Even more really, because the LO is bigger but still young enough to be EBF.

I had fruit and yogurt for breakfast today. Then I had some toast.
