Where did you purchase your amber teething necklace/anklet?

Hi mamas,

My little boy isn't teething yet, really. However, I would like to get him a teething necklace or anklet (not sure which yet) before he starts.

Probably an anklet, because I don't think my DH would be comfortable with him wearing a necklace.

thank you !

From an Etsy seller, who I wouldn't recommend, because it turned out she was sending them from Latvia or somewhere in that area (can't recall off the top of my head) and it took nearly a month for it to get here in the mail. I was soooo cranky. It wasn't a fluke, either, because I ordered it after Christmas since nobody had gotten the one I put on DS's christmas list... except it turned out my brother actually HAD ordered one, it just hadn't arrived for 4 weeks!

edit to add: is your baby's raw amber, or the glossy stuff? Is it heavily processed if it is shiny?

Inspired by Finn. She has the best prices and she guarantees them so if you don't like it, you can send it back. She sells only 100% Baltic amber. The lighter the color, the better it works, so don't get all-dark beads.

You can try a bracelet or anklet, but it works best when worn close to the area where the pain is, so you may not see any results from the bracelet/anklet. Her necklaces are not magnetic and they are designed to break when too much pressure is applied. Personally, I believe in just being a responsible parent. Necklaces don't kill babies. Parents leaving their babies alone while wearing a necklace is what kills them, so I just watched DD while she was wearing it and took it off of her while she slept. It's like a bath. Don't leave them alone in it, but if you are there supervising, it's perfectly safe.

We love ours

No worries, amber isn't ever processed. It's just polished with a grinder. Nothing is added to it, so it still retains the same properties as unpolished amber. The whole "processed amber doesn't work" thing is just a myth.

What you really want to be certain of is whether it's actual Baltic amber. I hear only Baltic amber has the pain-relieving properties. Also, you want to make sure that your amber isn't resin (plastic).

Oh, not cool! I just ordered one yesterday from Riga (capital of Latvia). I'm in Europe so hopefully it'll take less than a month to arrive.

Inspired by Finn - although it's actually DH's back pain "necklace". My friend ran a co-op so I got like 10% off
