Does your toddler yell at the tv (happily)?

Not sure where I am going with this. I guess since I don't know what's normal I would put it out there.

When my 15 month old watches her favorite tv program she will flap her hands and scream AHHH! AHHH!. I know it's because she's excited but just wondering if anyone else's did that.

I should say she doesn't talk or walk or respond much to me. She just now sorta started kinda eating solids. I was trying to leave tv off but it sure does make her happy. It's the only thing that makes her happy.

She will hold onto the fence with one hand and rock back and forth screaming (painfully to my ears which is ok) and flapping her hand. Or fall on her bum so she can flap both hands.

Her ped thinks she's on the spectrum but he's sorta leaning towards sensory/motility and I have follow ups in the future (man it takes forever to get in).

Btw her favorite movies are Madagascar 1 and 2 and Your baby Can Read. I don't know if this is kosher or not but i put all the baby can read movies on my computer and cut out all the bs adult talk (got tired of fast forwarding) so she has a solid 2 hour movie of just words and songs and right now she is flapping and screaming like crazy. She cries at the wiggles but this she loves? And no I'm not using it like I'm suppose to I guess but I don't care.

I think she only flaps when excited... certainly only AHHHHHS when excited. She babbles but doesn't know many consonants or vowels so AHHH best describes it. She really only knows M and A and some growling.

Some say tv is bad others say don't take away something she loves. So I gave her a rule. Tv from 9pm-9am (aka you can sleep with the tv on since her parents do anyway). So she started sleeping during the day the little stinker!! LOL Telling ya, she's smarter than people give her credit for. Soon as you touch the tv she pays attention. My head could be on fire and she'd ignore me but i get near the tv and she's all eyeballs. I have no idea if this is normal.

I would ask your ped for an evaluation by Early Intervention in your county. (Its free...)

An eval through EI is a great idea. Has your ped referred you to a developmental pediatrician?

yes, we've been referred to a specialist .

Get help did not help ease my mind. Really I'm the ONLY one? Totally made me meltdown into tears. Ppl saying get tested instead of any bonding.
