Isla Fayette born on 7/28 - another fast birth!

Isla Fayette was born at 5:04 am on the morning of the 28th.
7 pounds 6 ounces
19 inches long

I woke up at 2:50 with contractions that came every 5 minutes. 2 hours and 15 minutes later I pushed Isla out into the birth tub at home. Dh, Ds and my two midwives were present. My midwives were very hands-off and I managed Isla's birth all on my own. I lifted her to the surface myself, and she was pink and alert immediately. She wanted to nurse right away. I was worried about a fast labor, and it was intense and painful, but much more manageable than Ds's 6 hour labor (3 hours in the hospital). Things are going great this time. I am taking my placenta capsules and "laying in" for 10 days this time. Dh is taking great care of us all and Ds is loving his new little sister!

Sounds like you had a really positive hands-off birth experience. Catching your own baby? So empowering.

Congratulations on your little one. I hope the placenta capsules and longer laying in period help you feel great.

I'm so happy to hear that it went well. I had my girl on 7/26, also a very fast birth, uncomplicated. I was well supported by my doula; due to how fast it was, my midwife and her assistant arrived after my daughter was born.

I am so glad that we both had better experiences this time. It was very challenging for me as well, but uncomplicated and I received wonderful, hands-off labor support.

Congrats!
