Help... Fell Down the Stairs!

I just fell down the stairs (like half a flight) carrying my 2 year old. My butt hurts and my stomach feels weird and tight, I am 28 weeks. Should I call my Dr? Call L and D?

Call Dr. Let them know what happened. They will tell you what symptoms to look out for (such as bleeding) and may have you come in today or tomorrow just to be sure everything is okay.

More likely than not you are FINE... but its better to be safe than sorry in pregnancy!

I called and they want me to come in... blah, guess I need to get ahold of DH and find someone to watch my spawn.

Well I hope everything turns out well, its better to have them give you the all clear than to worry! Good luck!

Getting checked out will ease your mind. I'm glad you didn't really hurt yourself.

Good luck finding a sitter and I hope you and the baby are okay.

I fell down the stairs twice when I was very pregnant - one was outside on icy stairs and it caused a chain reaction because I slid into my other kids, the other was in the house, on wooden stairs, falling onto a concrete floor. Both times I went insane worrying about what might have resulted from that fall, but both times everything was perfectly okay. I was bruised and sore but the baby didn't suffer for it.

getting checked out will help put your mind at ease but by your post you should be fine as it sounds like you fell on your bum, i fell down the stairs when i was pregnant with my dd chloe and fell over a good few times with my ds cameron one of which was forward on to my belly and the pram with my daughter and a weeks shopping landed on top of me.

Thanks guys! Everything is fine, but apparently I was dehydrated so I got fluids. Good to know I am not the only pregnant klutz out there...

Glad you and everyone is well. I am always klutzy and especially when pregnant (all the different body shapes to bump into things, center of balance changing, etc).

I took a bad fall with baby #1 and baby #4 - down the stairs with baby #4. Both were fine. I'm glad you're doing well. Fluids will probably help you feel better too It's hard to stay on top of balance when things are changing so much every day! Take some Arnica for the bruising.

I second the arnica...it really helps when your sore! Glad your Ok. How did they know you were dehydrated?

It's best you get checked out. You mentioned that you were holding your 2 year old. Did he hit his head? Keep an eye on him and get him checked out too.

2 year old is fine... that is why I fell so weird because I was keeping him from hitting anything! They figured out I was contracting with the monitors and then 2 bags of fluids stopped them... it has been 105+ here everyday for the past week so it isn't really surprising...

Im glad that you got checked out, and that you and the 2 year old are okay. That dehydration sneaks up on you, that's for sure. Glad you are feeling better!
