The room I'm planning on putting the birth pool in (the only realistic place for it) shares a half wall with the kitchen so the kitchen faucet will be only 10' or so away from the pool. The problem is that the faucet is one of those where the whole part where the water comes out pulls out to become a hand held sprayer. There are no threads on it where an adapter or a hose could attach. The sprayer doesn't pull out nearly long enough and here in military housing we are not allowed to replace or alter it. Is there a way to hook up a filling hose to this type of faucet?
Our other option is to use the shower to fill it (all of these rooms are on the first floor) but that would mean not being able to use the shower in labor while the tub is filling. I tend to have short labors and would really like to be able to use a shower without going upstairs to use the not as nice one up there.

You can also get "y splitter" so that you can hook up both your washer AND your birth pool hose to the same place - they have shut off valves, so you can close the birth pool hose valve when it's not in use.
