I am guessing they're pants made of wool? How do they work over CDs? with or without covers? What happens when the wool gets wet, are they really practical? How do you wash them? Isn't the wool itchy for the babe? Don't they get stretched out? I am baffled by longies, please enlighten me, my boy is due in December it will be cold, should I get some longies? Help, so many questions!! Thanks mamas!!

They are pants made out of wool. They are the cover. Not itchy, But they do stretch. Hand wash every few weeks unless they get poopie, which will also resolve the stretching.
My guy lived in longies last winter when he was stationary. This winter he will again, and he'll be walking by then.

I only ask because we have been using pockets and they get so stinky and need to be stripped so often that I'd like to try something else....

I have used a prefold + snappi under mine. They work just fine. Here's a freebie knitting pattern:http://www.tinybirdsorganics.com/org...woolpants.html
