Do your three-and-a-half year olds confuse pronouns? Like DD2 and DS (my twins, almost 3 1/2) will say, "Her came to my house," instead of, "She came to my house." Or "Us is going to the store," instead of, "We are going to the store." And sometimes we still get, "Me want some milk," although I think they are mostly getting "I" and "me" correct now.
My DD1 never made those kinds of errors at this age, and I'm just wondering if it's normal. I worry about DD2 especially, because I think people still have a hard time understanding her. Her articulation is improving a LOT but she's still using odd grammatical forms. She also uses past tenses all mixed up, like "I camed upstairs," for "I came upstairs," or "I runned fast." But I've heard that those are typical for the age group.
The only other three year old we spend a lot of time with has a severe speech delay, so it's hard for me to compare mine to other kids their own age. Most of the kids around here are DD1's friends, or babies. I'm gong to try talking to a few of the kids at Sunday school this week, and see how the three year olds sound. I'm kind of worried about it, which is weird because I'm not a worrier, normally. I think it's because I hear all the time about twins being at high risk for speech problems.
